Top Gear - The Stig and that Koenigsegg

Did anyone see this week's episode, where the presenters tried to do a "Drive Time" radio show & failed miserably due to Clarkson's & May's ineptitude...?
Also, in this week's episode "The Stig" drove the Suziki Lliana for the last time, as they've changed the make of the "Reasonably Priced Car" ....

At least they managed to make some points about the gruesomely inane nature of most local "drive time" shows. I thought that JC's concept of accessing multiple traffic flow cameras and lambasting the miscreants causing bottlenecks was fundamentally sound - "quit rubbernecking at the accident on the opposite carriageway and get on with driving you cretins - yes that means you as well in the green Mondeo" - sheer brilliance.

I thought the show highlighted everything thaty's wrong qwith drive tiem shows - the traffic camera thing was brilliant. As was the narky Cricket announcer.

The Stig's lap in the Liana (sp?) was something else - I didn't think Mansell's tiem could be beaten, although Stig know the track backwards and our Nige had like 3 goes.

Did anyone else see this. Fucking class. The Stig falling off the track in the Koenigsegg CCx at about 110 and smashing it to fuck.

Offtopic - That Richard Hammond is the most annoying fucking little scut on British TV.
Hammond is annoying but nowhere near annoying as that immature, up his own arse, total prick Jeremy fucking Clarkson. He just doesn't know when something stops being funny.

Like his quotes when he introduces The Stig. The very early ones like 'Some people say he sleeps upside down like a bat' were funny but he just seems to be scraping the barrel to find something to say now and IMO they're just excruciatingly not funny anymore.

I thought Nige's lap was well impressive. He might have all the charisma of a kipper, but he sure can drive...

Anyone care to comment on this week's Amphibious Car Challenge...?
I liked May's modified Triumph Herald (with sails), & Clarkson clearly has taken "smarts" pills, this time round with the "Toybota" (although the enormous outboard motor chosen was almost too much.....).

I like Top Gear, I don't really like cars, but its nice seeing some of the supercars i will never get to drive or own.

I also like all the presenters, even clarkson, can't stand his politics or his opinions on many things 'green' but then I don't have to, I just have to enjoy his banter, and whatever you say about him, he has got a good way with words and can be very funny.

I don't even mind the Hamster as they call him, its a nice foil against Clarkson, the idea of a 6'5" right winger vs a 5'5" liberal is brilliant.

I particularly like May, cause he reminds me of soo many of my friends.

When Clarkson asked Hamster if he lived in a yoghurt commercial that was fucking funny.

Then watching the pair of them dumped into freezing cold water, that was almost worth the TV licence fee alone.

I was gutted when I saw that it was filmed in Stoke on Trent, Rudyard Lake is just up the road from here, would have loved to have seen it all live !
Can't understand how anyone can dislike Top Gear or the presenters, grreat crash out telly !

Clarkson crashing that ex-works Ford RS200 some time back was one of the funniest things I've seen in ages. Priceless, ex-Ford factory team rally car from the mid-80s, about 600bhp and turbo lag until the middle of next week.

He came out of a corner on the test track, stamped on the accelerator.

'There's nothing happen ... SHIT!'

He spun it round in a nice big circle and wiped the front spoiler off it.

I see this time the Stig got the modified Koenigsegg around the circuit, with out anything happening....:D
(Note: Rear Spoilers work sometimes....)
Also, my sister found the item about the Hamster & Capt.Slow driving the Mercedes S-class that had the interior Clarkson had modified hysterical....:D

so the message is the koenigsegg can't make cars properly?

Not really - adding a spoiler added downforce to help the car deal with the layout of Top Gear's (short-ish) circuit but it did knock a few MPH off its absolute top end. car design's always a compromise - adhesion vs. comfort, acceleration vs. tractability - it's an equation with loads of variables which is why cars are so fascinating. Take the gee-whizz sophistication of the Mitsubishi EVO vs. the brutal thuggishness of a TVR - both are hugely fast and entertaining but in different ways - vive la difference...
