if she likes hospitals she could admire st george's.
Lol. She can do similar things in Stirling. (Where eyebrow threading is cheap, there's a big Sainsbury, and so on).Get her eyebrows threaded. It's very cheap round Tooting.
Got to Merton Abbey Mills. Merton Abbey Mills | Eat | Drink | Shop | Play
While there she can also go to a massive Sainsburys M&S, Dunelm Mills and a Yates Lodge.
Do you know of good ones I can direct her to?She should see her way to the nearest masala dosa / rava dosa eating establishment ASAP
Dawat- 256-258 upper tooting road, Opposite TK max. Never had a bad meal from there!Do you know of good ones I can direct her to?
There're loads. My ex (of Sri Lankan Tamil origin as are many of the restaurants round there) reckoned they were all pretty decent. Quite a few are veggie too. (Or used to be -- used to live round there and ate out round there a lot. )Do you know of good ones I can direct her to?

If she's a hardy soul then a swim in Tooting Bec Lido - second biggest outdoor pool in Europe or something. It's raining at the moment mind you.
I mentioned Citizen Smith as soon as she said she was going to Tooting. She gave me a pitying look that implied "one of your prehistoric references". It made me feel old.First thing I did in Tooting, when i was a hip young thing, was go and do a citizen Smith fist pump outside Tooting Broadway station.![]()
Been once many years ago. It's popular in the summer.Have you ever been it it? It's fucking freezing. I'm not discounting the fact I'm a whimp and don't like being cold.
I had a friend 20 years older than me that had a swim in the lido first thing every morning, whatever the weather. She much preferred going there in the winter for the very reason you mention.Been once many years ago. It's popular in the summer.
bah. Think of the pitying look if there was a suggestion of going to look at Amen Corner.I mentioned Citizen Smith as soon as she said she was going to Tooting. She gave me a pitying look that implied "one of your prehistoric references". It made me feel old.

it's a road junction btw.
Mirch Masala is the best curry house. Don't listen to anyone else!
Went to Chutney & Dosa recently and it wasn't all that (apart from the dosas). Wasn't BYOB either, which is the clincher for me)Mirch Masala is lovely. But it's Keralan/South Indian/Sri Lankan food that makes Tooting distinctive and unusual, and Mirch Masala isn't that. (Plus the best Mirch Masala branch isn't in Tooting)
Exciting or what! While there she can also go to a massive Sainsbury's.
