Aye. That show was bloody embarassing - the likes of a drugged up Ashcroft and We Are Scientists supposedly representing British/US music, and completely outclassed by everything else, including a 'Hasidic Jewish reggae rapper' and a lass with an acoustic guitarjms said:i thought rodrgio y gabriela and camille were great last night
we are scientists were shit, and are shit![]()

Most of it is mediocre tbh, and as my flatmate pointed out, it's deliberately biased that way - I thought they'd put Camille on again at the end, and he said, 'no, it's always the shit stuff they show more' which is obviously right.TeeJay said:I liked the "Jewish reggae" guy and especially Camille.
I sometimes wonder tho' if I end up watching stuff on the show that I usually wouldn't bother listening to simply because of the pictures, and since I typically watch on my PC whiole simultaneously browsing something else (and hence not really *watching*) I end up wondering if I am being suckered into listening to what amounts to a mediocre radio show.
I was thinking that too. Do you remember the late night Channel 4 music show they used to do, before digital? It was hosted by Jo Whiley and had a fair bit of different stuff on it. Despite her tendencies to make everything a bit NME-style 'like it because we're told to', it was pretty good. Had a cartoon on it called House of Rock and a bit of varied stuff like that. Maybe I just have unrealistically good memories of it! After that, I can't remember any other good regular music shows....but in fact I think we could do with several themed music shows rather than the current rag-bag.
Is it my imagination but are there less decent music shows on the TV than in years gone by? I suppose E4 and E4+1 make up for it slightly with their morning music programming, but IMO we could do with some decent programmes to supplement Jools off-and-on Friday nights and the rubbish Saturday morning kids stuff.
There are tons of BBC radio DJs who could put together good genre-based TV shows.

)madamv said:It was a cracking show. Dresden Dolls were ace, Paolo Nutini was good too and of course Gogol Bordello put on a show. Didn't impress anyone I was with though which annoyed me slightly as I felt a twonk 'yeah-ing' round their room. Oh where oh where was my Sparklefish when I needed her? (on the lash in town forsaken me)
