Toni & Guy Academy...

another tip for a cheapo haircut is Alan B's school of hairdressers just of oxford street. cheap ie nothing, and quick appointments usually. also usually already trained hairdressers that do a special course or something.

mr topper seconded. :D

although my best hairdressers at the mo is euro 20 but back in germany hence the outgrown cut/hairstyle at times.

Wow, good story/bad story...what to do...?

I have semi-afro, long, thick hair - not normal hair that can re-style so I can't fuck it up really, I would cry like a babe...truly!!

However, it needs a cut, can't afford £40 - the usual, so I'm gonna chance it and ring em anyway, see what they say.

Thanks for the voucher offer :)

aaah didn't realise you had afro - do you just mean mixed-race afro or proper afro hair?

Best mate phoned T+G asked the person on the other end
"Do you do afro hair?"
"Do what"
"Afro Hair"
"What's that?"
"You know black peoples hair?"
"Err no sorry we don't"

Not sure about VS but never saw any black or mixed grls when I was in there.

It's worth a phonecall though :)

I'm looking forward to seeing szc's new 'do :)

I am so glad that I've finally got myself sorted with a hairdresser I like and trust, after a couple of soul destroying and expensive trips to "trendy" salons, I was beginning to give up hope.

the place I go now is a typical "normal" hairdressers, old ladies, kids, the odd bloke for a short back and sides. the woman that does my hair does a great job, will be a bit adventurous, and doesn't try to fob me off with a trim when I've asked for a restyle (like in the fancy places, with a price tag of 30 - 40 quid  )

£26 quid is a cheap price to pay for a decent haircut.

This sounds so shallow but.......it's made such a fucking difference. I feel so much more confident, I look older, smarter and sexier (well, I hope :D).

LDR's out but when he comes home I'll ask him for his digital camera and see if I can post some up!

I don't think that's shallow at all, I had a nice new haircut at the weekend, and I'm still in love with it, and it makes me all the things you say above (apart from the older bit, I don't need any help there :o )

I'm not blessed with great hair, so when I manage to get a cut and style that looks good I feel so much more confident.

Well, it's a funny one. It's not afro, it's not normal, it's kind of in-between (?!), let's say I have flashes of afro moments. But I always get it done at any hairdressers, and never have to go to a specialist hairdresser...

I'll try. Ta :)

I have fine hair and that long style I had before was weighing it down and making it look shapeless, not to mention those ratty, hairdye ruined ends I had :o

I'm on a really healthy and positive path at the moment and the hair defo helped. I look forward to seeing yours Tanky :) (post some pics up! :p)

I really like the toni + guy academy. Instead of pay £25-odd quid for a cut they do it for a fiver, they've always done it exactly the way I've wanted it, it's always been good, and they've been the best people to actually understand how my hair works (it's unbelievably thick). It just takes quite a while. I'd def. recommend.

What colour's your hair now, cat?
