Tom Daley makes the 10m highboard final

At his age, and in this context, the benefit of the doubt must be applied.

:)

S'not like he's out in a Hoodie, stabbing peeps for coppers, is it?

:p

Woof

I could understand the frustration of his (older) partner in the sycnronised diving - I'm sure he's more professional and obviously has fewer years in front of him, but it was still a shame he spoke in public about it. 14 is very young indeed, prob too young to be in a pair.

Read somewhere the older geezers training partner died in a hit and run last year and basically Daley was imposed on him so ya can prob understand his frustration

Because its a rule that applies to gymnastics and not to diving.

I suspect the gymnastics rule is beause the training/preparation for gymnastics is so incredibly strenuous and all consuming. ( daily for hours from the age of about 5/6)
It really doesnt compare to most other sports.

As I understand it, it's been a problem in gymnastics because the girls peak so young and there'd be tremendous pressure to just drive their bodies into the ground not to mention delaying puberty and dieting, without care as to how the girl might be at 18 because they'd be over the hill then. Having an age limit of 16 guards against that to an extent.

I don't think it's a problem with diving as the adults do just fine.

I guess a big difference between the sports is that there's no jarring with the landings in diving so it's a load safer.

"At least it's not a Chinese person winning"

Right.

Nice use of selective quoting there. You don't work for a tabloid by any chance? :)

“I’m so glad Matt won, I’m glad that a non-Chinese person won. It breaks the mind barrier to know the Chinese are beatable.

“It’s like a four-minute mile. Once one person did it, lots of people then did it afterwards. It’s now possible for a British person to win [in London 2012]. I need to go away, learn some harder dives, perfect them and then hopefully all goes to plan in London.

I already apologized, and I don't work for a tabloid, but I do know that LoveMeDont poster is currently entwined in an illegitimate three-in-a-bed brave sex romp cancer transvestite crisis Kerry Katona shocker shock crisis romp.

*busty*

How fucking awful were the commentators for that diving? I watched it in Dutch rather than listen to the fucking pillocks.

Pillock No.1: That entry was a bit banana shaped
Pillock No 2: More like Bananarama!

Pillock No.1: Nine Nine Nine Nine!
Pillock No 2: Thats what the German commentators are saying!

What? Clowns :D

I honestly thought they were entertaining and a little refreshing, a kind of double act almost - at least by BBC standards. I mean, compared with Steve and Bren . . .

Olympic silver medallist Leon Taylor is NOT a pillock. GRRR.

He was a little camp though! :) He's Tom's mentor.

And btw, Steve Cram is *mighty* alright?
