Tom Cruise gets South Park episode pulled

Well I've just tried googling variations. If it ain't on google... it ain't anywhere.

edited to add... found it. There is a large section on this (supposed) quote in Wikipedia. The scientologists claim it was Orwell who said "there might be a lot of cash in starting a new religion." and it got planted onto Hubbard.

Reading the second link I'd be tempted to be careful what we say... don't want to get Urban75 into trouble :D

how did Nicole put up with the little oddball for so long?

I think Nicole Kidman is terrific (what a shock :D ) but she's never had the best taste in men. And aside from his first wife, Nicole and Katie ("call me KATE!!") Holmes have/will do very nicely out of the marriages to Tom Cruise.

But don't mistake me, I can't stand him.

Re: The gay thing, he doth protest too much (perhaps/allegedly/it could be suggested...)

:p

As for his "won't hear a word against it" Stepford Wifedom regarding Scientology, it could be argued he's in desperate need of deprogramming.

What pissed me off - hugely - was his criticism of Brooke Shields when she admitted to post-natal depression and requiring therapy and anti-depressant medication. He is of the view, as are all Scientologists, that psychiatrists are the "devil's work" and that the meds they prescribe are (in other words) poisonous.

Ignorant moron.

Besides being a self-important wanker, he's a doctor too.... apparently.

Oh, and the jumping on the couch/mid-life crisis/major embarrassment simply confirmed his dickheadedness. What a respectful way to treat Nicole Kidman and his two children. Stupid, childish prick

seems to me that monsieur cruise is using the scientology arguement to vent his anger about the many closet references. If he's that pissed off about it then he should just quit showbiz cos pretty much everyone reckons he on the happier side of hetrosexual. and really who gives a fuck wether he likes bum fun or not. Not I , hes a twat what ever side of the tracks he walks on IMO :p

If ya want proper scandal google babalon and hubbard, jack parsons ( a real rocket scientist) was fleeced by hubbard who got involved with crowley who described him as a "fawning synchophat"

hubbards a fucking con artist, pure and simple.

bigger fool all the people with too much money that follow his fiction.

BTW jazz, crowley mentions hubbards conversation about starting a religion.

just been reading up on scientology on wikipedia and WHOA! What a thoroughly strange and wierd set of beliefs. All the stuff with Xenu just is plain odd. Theres also a thing on one of the wiki articles where it says that hubbard spent the time when he wrote the Xenu stuff living on a diet of rum and drugs - seems like some crazy drug trip to me! Also reading about the Sea Org and RPF and it seems actually quite disturbing. I went on the scientologists website and was tempted to take a personality test, but it required giving my details to them -not something im willing to do!

Well, I'm going to have to watch this episode clearly. I do like the fact that no issue is sacred for South Park, if the episode's been made we'll get hold of it despite Cruise so I'm not too sure why he thinks pulling it will achieve anything. After all his trying to pull it will generate more publicity of this issue anyway.

Am I the only one thinking that when a film or programme comes out making supposed insults or jibes/comments on religion then people perhaps shouldn't go public in thier indignation? We had thisd with Life of Brian, the contorversy it generates actually increases interest but if those who got upset kept quiet the offensive programme would just slip away and we'd all be bakc to normal in a week. Protestors blow these things up and make more people want to see them so I've no understanding of Cruise;s logic. Now I really want to watch the episode, before I wouldn't be that bothered.

Hilarious!

Apparently, I heard on the radio, Chef has just been killed off in the new episode of South Park just aired in the US, where he turned into a paedophile who gets killed propositioning one of the gang! Trey and Matt are sick :)

Good publicity for them I reckon.

Hehehehehehe, classic South Park...why gloss over something in a subtle fashion when you can make as big a deal of it as possible and try to come up with the most outlandish storyline you can think of? :D

Best book on Scientology is 'A Piece Of Blue Sky', if you fancy reading more. It's often quite difficult to get hold of books exposing the 'religion' over the internet though (I had 'L Ron Hubbard - Messiah or Madman' on back-order for months before giving up). The entirely believable conjecture is that the church buys tries to buy them up before anybody else can get their hands on them.

It's difficult enough to get a book published on them in the first place, due to their penchant for law suits over trade secrets (very odd for a tax-exempt religion) and copyright.

Just saw the latest episode, it must be the closest thing possible to taking the utmost piss without being actually subtle (sp?)

Watched it earlier and must say while the piss taking was spot on I didn't think much of the episode tbh. It wasn't very funny and below par for SP...
