I wish there was a microwave at work so I could have soup.

you could invest in a flask? my work didn't have a microwave but I have a gigantic flask so I could take in huge portions of soup.

Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel followed by spicy lentil and vegetable soup.

Bulghar wheat with chicken, spicy sausage, fennel and root veggies.

Have got no appetite though so most of it is up for grabs- anyone?

1x Chicken, sweetcorn, cucumber baguette
1x Cheese & Onion crisps
1x Slice of carrot cake
2x Cox's Apples
1x Stick of gum to clean the teeth (ish)

But tomorrow, seeing as it's Friday, it'll be

1x Huge curry tray from the van in the market. 3 vege curries, rice, bahji, samosa, chutney. Yum :)

At lunchtime on most days I do my bit to bring the Boots Empire to it's knees by selecting the most expensive items I can that qualify for the Meal Deal :)

Today was:

Boots 'Sushi' - £2.99
Innocent Smoothie (Red Coloured) - £1.79
Boots Caramel Shortbread - 89p

Total seperate selling price = £5.67
Meal Deal Price = £3.30
Total Saving for me = £2.37!
Plus I got 18p on my Boots Card!!

Back of the fucking net :D

Their colour coded-ness baffles me to be fair.

Green = £3.30 quality Meal Deal (and means you can just about select any 3 edible items in store)
Red = £2.99 less quality Meal Deal

It's also been noted that outside of London the meal deal prices are reduced by 30p  Why you Bastards  Why?!

Sushi.. Salmon set from Abokado and then a chicken and avocado wrap as well 'cos the standard set is never enough. Had a caramac kit kat too, that was shit.

Yes! I only had a bowl of cereal, and I may waste away, according to Onket!

I can't believe how much you lot eat for lunch!

What's wrong with a quick sandwich followed by a ciggie in the car park???

Baked potato with tuna and cottage cheese and egg, olives and salad to go with.

It was a bit *meh* tbh. I'm being food careful at the moment because I'm not exercising but may have to have a crazee lunch tomorrow swimming with increased fun and games.

I do love a boiled egg though - does anyone else really enjoy peeling them?? I mean really enjoy it?

Me too! :D I get through a whole lot of fruit smoothies in this manner!

(I've noticed the price difference outside London - however the individual items are still priced the same AFAIK  )

There is an art to shelling (not peeling, sweetie) boiled eggs.

It should be done with such care and precision that the egg white is left pristine and unbroken.

Any cracks, smudges, dents, etc, caused to the underlying egg during shelling means instant failure.

I had left over veg and pasta bake from last night... but had it really early so now I'm a bit hungry again :(

You know what I'm talking about!

A perfectly shelled egg is a thing of beauty to behold - smooth and cool as marble. And cutting through the white is soooooo pleasing - then you get the bright yellow yolk inside :)

Boiled eggs in your lunchbox are an adventure in themselves.
