Today I'm going to fail my bike test

September, isn't it?

If you want to do your test again before it changes, you might want to book it soon...

Well you have to wait ten days before rebooking and my CBT runs out on the 17th, so I think I'll just concentrate on redoing my CBT for now. I had a lot of trouble getting this appointment in the first place and had to take a last minute cancellation, which was why I was so underconfident (little time to prepare) and why it was a rush job getting the bike serviced. Every fucker is trying to rush their test through before the changeover at the moment. That said, I looked up what the actual changes were on the internet, and as far as I could see it was just some slow control stuff round cones, which I can manage (if it's not pissing with rain and my brakes are working).

Actually, I don't much fancy this:

DSA said:
* At least two exercises carried out at slow speed, including a slalom
* At least two exercises carried out at higher speed, of which one exercise should be in second or third gear, at a speed of at least 30 km/h (approx. 19 mph) and one exercise avoiding an obstacle at a minimum speed of 50 km/h (approx. 32 mph)
* At least two braking exercises, including an emergency brake at a minimum speed of 50 km/h (approx. 32 mph)

But I've got till the end of Sept...

The place where I'm booked in says they have a 6 week waiting list to get tests, though. Probably worth finding out soon. :)

The DSA have realy messed things up 'cos the 'extra' parts to the test have to be carried out off the public highway, which would mean the test centres need to have a large compound. Out of the 350+ DSA test centres only a couple of dozen can cater for this - be prepared to travel quite a distance to get to your nearest test location.

= Unfamiliar roads, 15-20 mins longer test, more expensive, harder/longer to book (supply/demand).

I would seriously consider phoning every few days for any cancelations before all this goes live on the 29th Sept

That's what I was doing this time - this was a short notice cancellation that I booked online, hence it being a bit of a scramble to get self and bike through the test, hence it going tits up.

I did wonder about the space issue - the test centre near me only has a teeny forecourt. I think I read on the DSA website that the test centres can hire somewhere?
