And of course, no option for vegemite....

White toast, butter, a good amount of vegemite. Perfect. Could live on it really.
You are evil personified.

Freddy Kruger runs scared at the mere mention of your name.

<hides from scary kangaroo fiddling weirdo>

 :(

Hovis wheatmeal, butter. Occasional ginger jam, sometimes made into Melba toast if I'm feeling under the weather.

Ginger jam is the best jam in the world. Melba toast rocks too. Don't know how I forgot about melba toast

I'm a bit curious about the link between cheese, marmite and peanut butter though. That's one hell of a strange combi...

2 slices of wheat free bread, spread butter then marmite on one, peanut butter on the other. snadwhich a few slices of cheese between them , heat till cheese melts. eat :) yummy

Perfect Cheese on Toast:

Grill one side of brown bread (the cheap kind, not all grainy and thick cut)

Slice from Large block of bog standard cheddar, 3-4mm slices.

Lay slices all the way to the edge of the un toasted side. Leave no gap unfilled. This is important.

Add a generous grind of pepper, a couple of drops of lee+perrins (from a great hieght for maximum splash factor) and, if you're feeling really dangerous, a sprinkling of very finely chopped garlic.

Grill under a hot hot grill until the spitting bits stop spitting and things are going brown. Let it cool for a bit. Eat with ketchup and a silly grin all over your fat cheesey face :)

Yep i like it like that too

Another good way is toast one side under the grill, then spread either marmite, or place cooked bacon on the uncooked side, cover with cheese and grill.

Cheese on toast then sprinkled with onion salt after it's cooked is also very good.

Lime marmalade on thick white with real butter is the nuts

Mmmmmm carbs!!!

I agree - only I usually do it as an open sandwich. Mmmmmmm :) I except that's why they all appeared on the same option :o

mmm very hot toast which is like medium so its not too soft not too hard with a bit of thinly spread butter and a lot of nutella mmm gorgeous. im hungry. i want toast.

damn food threads

Brown toast with butter and proper ham, none of your supermarket pre-packed shite. or maybe a slice of boiled bacon if decent ham is not available. This is a rare treat, but nonetheless my favourite toast based meal (for it is a meal). Although a it was a close run thing with sippets (little triangles of buttered toast arranged around a bowl of something vaguely soggy) with mince...a favourite childhood supper dish.

Vogels soya and linseed toast with green olive tapenade. But I'm also partial to peanut butter, houmous or tinned spaghetti (not all at once, you understand).

Voting options: I can't believe you've imprisoned lovely, lovely peanut butter with evil, evil marmite! Won't somebody please think of the children?

Otherwise I have voted with my heart. I love toast in all its non-margarined forms, but if I could only have one topping choice for all eternity it would have to be butter+peanut butter.

butter and nutella?! isn't the thick choco spread enough fat for you?

Nope. All toast demands butter, unless it's cheese or sardines on toast in which case there really is no need for it (but cheese on toast should have a layer of pickle, red pesto or mustard under the cheese, or maybe hot lime pickle if you're feeling hungover).

peanut butter needs no butter
nutella needs no butter

Granary toast (cold) with butter (over all of it, not just in the middle) and a light scraping of marmite.

When I'm feeling really posh, I'll have one slice with marmite, one slice with jam/marmalade and one slice with peanut butter.

We have to agree to disagree!

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the following yet:

Toast thick crusty white bread on one side, turn over, add lots of finely chopped garlic and fresh basil that have been mushed into olive oil (sort of like pesto), toast the second side, eat! All right, it's basically posh garlic bread, but dead tasty all the same.

Also, repeat, but add a mix of olive oil, mustard and lime juice instead of the garlicky stuff. Mmmmmm...
