toad in the hole

Toad in the hole is a perfectly good breakfast for kids as long as you cook it on a high enough heat for the meringue to cook without the ice cream melting. HTH.

Its 2 fried slices of bread(sarnie form) with a hole in the middle(egg cup size) with an egg cracked in it whilst the bread is frying.You must butter both sides of the bread to give it that greasy texture.Its crap but it tastes nice yumm yummSpecially with worestershire sauce

That sounds nice, but not really suitable for children except on their birthdays or if they're suffering from a lard deficiency.

Having said that I've now decided that I'm going to try making one tomorrow.

Ah. We used to have this sometimes as kids, it's LOVELY (although I probably wouldnt' think so now!) I can't remember what we called it but it certainly wasn't Toad in the Hole, which is definitely sausages in batter.

I seem to be alive still and I've had reason to be checked out by the doc recently who pronounced me very healthy.

It's like everything, isn't it. Moderation. Except the worcestershire sauce, which should be banned.
