Timelessness and the block universe

I’ve pondered on time travel before, and thought that if the only actual time we are living (and in fact, everything exists) is now, then if we were to travel back in time then we’d come back to a mere snapshot of that particular moment. If we were able to walk around in it then anything we touched would be made OUT OF DARK MATTER I’VE FUCKING CLOCKED IT JUST NOW!!! That’s what all the dark matter is, past snapshots of current matter held forever in old space-time.

Yetstein solves another. Hadron Collider? Turn it off. Have a cup of tea or something and go and do the garden. I’ve sorted it all out. No probs.

it follows from timelessness that there is no 'end' of a discussion

(because having an 'end' means being in time)

Just because at some point the discussion can be perceived as active, doesn't mean that it doesn't have an end. Perhaps from that perspective it would appear that way, but you never were one for a limited perspective.

Yeah ... but how do you prevent going back to a snapshot of a parallel time in a parallel universe, eh? Eh?

Not so fucking clever now, are you. We'd all get lost in a multiverse of many-histories if you had your fucking way. Bloody students.

But you're saying that there is an end, and that's pre-determined.

saying 'pre' determined involves a sequence of time

but this is a model of timelessness

events are not determined by previous events, but rather all events are determined 'from above'

so there is no beginning or end

Fucks up your Big Bang thread then dunnit.
