saw this advertised recently on the bbc

there are several clips from armando iannucci's new show on the website up there:rolleyes: , no precise release date as far as i know...
iannucci is rather amusing 'the armando ianucci show' from not too long ago was great fun, as well as his more widely known contribution to shows like 'the day today'

Bollocks, i'll be out of the country.

The Armando Iannucci Show is supposed to be out on DVD very soon isn't it?

Not sure. I don't actually own any Iannucci creations other than his "Facts And Fancies" book. I just remember he's yet to fail to hit the target in my book.

bump

really looking forward to this, if The Armando Ianucci Shows were anything to go by. Whish they'd hurry up and release the DVDs.

I'm not looking forward to this tbh. I saw the 10 minute taster last week and was pretty underwhelmed. Reminded me of Chris Morris, but with the point taken out.

He's coming from a very good pedigree - Alan Partridge and the Day Today... but then Chris Morris was in the IT croud ofc. Wouldn't like to see another comedy great fall.

Have you heard Armando Iannucci's Charm Offensive on Radio Four recently? Very poor, I thought, given his past record. I look forward to the Trumpet show, but expect to be disappointed.

BTW, were you taken in by The Day Today? I changed channels and saw what I thought was a new Newsnight presenter declaring that there were feral horses on the Underground. I was astonished!

The following week, a housemate came into the room and was so outraged by the report of children in famine areas being force fed slaughtered chickens (or something) that he became apoplectic. He kept saying "They can't do that! Who told them they could do that?" I laughed so hard I fell off the sofa.

I prefer Iannucci and his work to Morris. He seems to fully infiltrate the media before ripping the cronic piss out of it, whereas Morris seems to more do it from a distance which doesn't appeal to me so much. And Charm Offensive was very funny I thought.

That said, Morris' charactural likeness to Paxman is uncanny.

He did a show about the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal a few years back, supposedly a documentary made about it 30 years in the future, doesn't sound promising but it was absolutely fucking fantastic, I think it must have sparked this off.

That thing was fantastic :) - Especially the barely intelligable 'American' language that they spoke.

Glad Stewart Lee is back too. It was a disgrace how much the Beeb fucked him and Richard Herring over with moving TMWRNJ all over the scheduals. They complemented each other superbly, as well as writing for early On The Hour.

It starts on Thursday I think on BBC2. This week definitely.
Yes Thursday night: BBC2 10pm.

Looking forward to it. The last thing he did was The Thick of it, which was brilliant.

Yes! Thank fuck I'm not the only one who remembers it, I thought I was going insane. If anyone has a video or DVD of it, pm me.....

The Armnando Ianucci Shows was absolutley excellent - you can get it off UK nova (pretty poor quality) or PM me and I'll send you the avi's (including the Clinton/Lewinski thing too!)

Really looking forward to time trumpet.
:)

I'm just uploading Clinton - His struggle with dirt. Will post link later :)

I thought that was great.

I loved the old David Beckham and the vagina on his arm.

The old Jamie Oliver was class too and the shrunk Martha Kearney. :D

Yup, I thought it was f'ing ace. The Jamie Oliver santa claus look alike had me giggling. It made newsnight seem more surreal than ever before!

Dunno why people keep on posting on the other Time Trumpet thread, this one's the original and best!

I enjoyed last weeks and apparently tonights is even better. :)

Yeah and this thread's got the free (no strings attached) download of the Clinton thing so ner :)
