Seems Israel has been hacking WA, but there's a fix.
The hack is reported as 'targeted' so that probably means limited to the US military and anyone actively having a go at Israel in whatever way.
It's most likely government, military, political figures, and anyone of interest to that bastard country, but it won't hurt to update anyway.

I heard that it wasn’t that they were snooping on WhatsApp but that they were using WhatsApp to install surveillance software on to phones! Which is alarming.

If you or I wrote a bit of software to do something like this then it wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect an extradition warrant to be heading our way. Any reason why that’s not the case here?

It's not that your WhatsApp messages are necessarily compromised it's that the app is compromised - especially dangerous when you remember it's an app with permissions to use your camera, microphone and probably location.

So it can potentially be sending your discussion back to base as well as plot your location at any time neatly on a map.
