hooray for justifying witch hunts.
bollocks. it wasnt a witch hunt. there was no need for a hunt it was all in bloody public and thats my (and other peoples) objection.

You're right, we should have just let it slide.

The most interesting part of this post is the use of the word 'we'. Anyway, who is going to step forward and organise this (assuming that it goes ahead)?

BB:)

boogie boy - on another thread - commented on a cd he'd received. he was brutally honest. he was given a rollicking on that thread at the time.

time passes. boogie boy volunteers - on an entirely new thread - to administer the next burn.

bunch of posters turn up, tell him he's this and tell him he's that, and suggest that having been brutally honest on another thread somehow disqualifies him from organising a burn, some even implying that somehow he is not to be trusted with people's addresses...

you may not agree with the brutal frankness he employed at the time. you may not agree with his refusal to 'apologise'. but... oh, fuck it. can't be arsed with this.

boogie boy has been an excellent burner. what he said may or may not have been 'in keeping with the spirit of urburns', but i know damn well that if he were a 'star poster' he could have been ruder than he was and not got all this shit.

apologies boogie boy, hope it all works out.

Yes, "we" the mono-thought clique.

I agree with this (as wrong):

I don't give a shit about who anyone is. Personally I'd have said my bit, and I've not been particularly unpleasant about it, to anyone. I don't get involved in board politics at all but even to me the concept that threads are self-contained entities where all mistakes remain confined is clearly rubbish. There's a difference between pursuing people around the boards in a witchhunt, and bringing up an issue on the same topic when it's still recent and still hasn't been resolved.

For the record, I don't have any big problem with Boogie Boy. As he said, he ran the old skool hip hop swap, which was great, and he volunteered to do this one, which is something that I'm too lazy to do...

But I don't think it's helpful to start chucking round accusations of witchhunts if more than one person objects to what someone has posted, wherever they might have posted it.

And I don't think you can veneer what was a rather nasty post by calling it honest. I think if any poster had posted something similar, people would have reacted similarly, whatever their post count or whatthefuckever.

I dunno, maybe this has all gotten a bit unnecessarily nasty.

Look, I'm going to post a smiley, that will make it all OK: :)

true...

let's spread the love.

I still suspect that the CD was a straight copy of a compilation of some kind
Missed this.
Nope. Pushed as I was for time with all sorts of fairly unpleasant personal shit, it was a genuine effort. Even had a not immediately obvious theme, of sorts.

Sorry for calling you a cunt. A single raised eyebrow might've been more dignified.

Aye well. Lipid-laden water under a dank sooty bridge.
