Oh and BB with regards to your response to the last one it wasnt being honest, being honest is saying that you didnt like the cd. What you wrote was stupid and hurtful and really wasnt called for. Chooch may well have spent all the time and effort you invested into yours on theirs and put just as much thought in. Saying what you said was, aside from being not in the 'urburn spirit', just plain rude.
The whole IDEA of urburn is that you get a selectio n of music you wouldnt normally like!

You were out of order in your reply - I was sure you were taking the piss when I first read it. Do you know something I don't (is it burnt straight from a compilation or something?). How the fuck can you say it's from "...someone...who knows fuck all about music?" Music's surely a completely subjective thing? One person's "...ill thought out poor lack lustre shit arse excuse of an effort..." is another person's erm...best cd or something.

My interpretation of Urburn has always been that it isn't some elite "music expert" thing... sometimes you'll get a cd you love with loads of stuff you've never heard, sometimes be reminded of some old favourites, or perhaps some old hates, or stuff you've always avoided & which reminds you why you have! Either way, that's the luck of the draw, & you go with it. If you don't like it or think it's "obvious", doesn't mean the other person didn't make an effort. Personally, I've never made 'proper' covers for mine; I just don't do that kind of thing.. but I'd refute anyone who claimed I hadn't put thought into them.
I know there were several tracklistings posted in the last one that made me think "damn, I hope I don't get that" at, but if I had received the cd's, I might've briefly posted & said "ah well, not really to my taste", or just been polite & not said anything. I was pretty shocked by the tone of your response, & thought it was bang out of order. There was no need for it at all.
So I think the reason why people (incl. myself, I have to say) are slightly dubious about you organising one is that you seem not to be taking it in the spirit of fun & goodwill that most here seem to feel it should be taken.

Well given the response here I'm more than happy to stand aside and let someone else organise this particular 'Urburn', this isn't about 'ownership' of the process.
In respect of the other thread, I went back and tried to listen to the cd again, and my reaction was exactly the same. So I will not be apologising! I still suspect that the CD was a straight copy of a compilation of some kind, which does against the spirit of the process (something which some of you appear particularly keen on).
So...over to someone else.......
