Time for Scotland to go

You should support the right of all nations to self-determination, wherever people decide that they are a nation they have the right to advocate whatever constitutional position they want through a referendum.
.

Fair play. If its what Scotland wants then they should have it.

Will I need my passport when I come to visit?

Inependence is probably the only way Scotland can escape from perpetual, never-ending neocon rule and develope a left-ish form of government.

I think the SNP is far from perfect, but I think they're a little to the left of what's on offer throughout much of the UK.

But that's not hard to be and it's not really saying much.

That's not going to happen. Trout nd his lot are pro-politicians of the shite school.

Already happening. It's not as if they're supporting privatisation, welfare reforms, the wars, ID cards or nuclear weapons. I am not suggesting the SNP are socialist in any way shape or form though but the programme of government they already have is 'left-ish' as poster342002 says. It's the same agenda as in Wales, generally co-operative and state provided public services rather than competitive and privately run ones. Not based on socialism or a class analysis but based on Scandinavian social democracy. The flaws of building that model on an Anglo-American tax base are probably best discussed on another day!

The SNP's level of support is what interests me and whether that can be maintained.

It's not hard to be, but it is hard to be and still get elected, considering the way the British media sets alot of the political agenda (even in Scotland).
