Time for another "who's writing a book?" thread

Nah ... I've written about 160 pages (of the one I'm working on at the moment ... i wrote more a long time ago in the past for part 2 but I'll probably have to change most of it now. Ho hum...)

novels are big.

They are quite big aren't they.
Sometimes I drop mine in the bath.

I wondered why we should all be writing novelettes. Is it because we are not clever enough to know enough words for a novel?

:)

I've just finished part 1 of my book

anyone want to review it - who's got time on their hands to look at 128 pages?? (and another 30 pages if they want to look at the begining of part 2)

Hell I've got nothing to do, I'll read your book for you :)

You can reciprocate by reading through mine for me once it's finished, but as that will be never at this rate you needn't worry too much about that particular obligation ;)

I will.

PM me and I will give you my other email address (I dont use that hotmail one for emails)

Froggy, show me yours, and I'll show you mine.

This is not an example of the level of wit in my 'novel.'

(Yes 'novel,' btw; I know what a novella is: a story with even less chance of being published than a novel - unless it's by a TV presenter and is published as a 'quick read' for a quid around book month time).

My book's due at the publisher in a fortnight.  It's all written, but there's still a faintly alarming amount of editing and so on still to do...

Ah, non fiction?
I'm trying to figure out a non fiction proposal at the moment.

I much prefer the query process of non fiction to fiction. You don't even have to write the thing until it's been commissioned!

its a history book isn't it??

Yep. :)

Now, if I could only get the preface into a form I'm happy with, I could knock off work for today feeling pleased with myself. I've drafted, redrafted, tinkered and fucked about with it for weeks and I still can't get it quite right.

I'd love to have a go at some proper creative writing, short stories in particular. My creative prowess is limited to lyrics for the moment though.
