This mummy means business..........

He has come home from school starving, so instead of biscuits, I have given him a bowl of ratatouille and a pitta bread. He's wolfing it down!

Choc, I know it's not very trendy these days to give children rules but I find it makes for a much happier and easier life. :)

Nah, they do need rules, and from my own experience, they are much happier when they know their boundaries...makes them feel secure, even though it's damned hard work for you

I got a bit pissed off with the media obsession with 'pester power' tbh. Every single generation has gone through it - it's nowt new. Kids will mither til their tongues fall off if you let them - it's up to parents to set the boundaries

ITA. For those who haven't kids, consider how many teenagers actually prefer strict teachers (as long as they're consistent and the rules they enforce aren't ridiculous) to teachers who let them get away with anything. When they grow up and look back, even more of them prefer the stricter teachers in hindsight!

My ex thought that I was really, really lax with my daughter. Pfft - about as lax as your waistband on Christmas Day.

YES, YES, YES.....

In your face............ :p

Thanks Madz - my mum used to call knots in my hair 'clits', so it wouldnt have been all that odd for me to have been wrong.

But I am not. Ha.

Mine too, you're the only one that understands. I thought it was a dorset thing but no-one else I know has heard of it.
