I watched quite a few of the reruns before Christmas (not all of them, because they were on every night, ffs - even I have other things to do sometimes!), and really enjoyed them.
I read loads of stuff about This Life + 10, including an article in a paper on the train coming home. I hurried to make dinner, to ensure that I could watch it without missing more than the first few minutes.
It was crap.
I can't believe it was the same writer and actors as the original!

The original was rubbish and the 10+ was a bag of shite, too. Quelle surprise.

Erm those who liked the original series: why was last night's re-union episode crap? What was different?

Not sure. I think it may have been because the script writers and director were trying too hard to recapture the sense of the original, which was written and directed in quite different circumstances.
Or maybe it was because the actors had all moved on and were different people themselves, or maybe it was just that the actor who plays Anna, who plays a crucial role in it, imho, was pregnant and spent lots of time feeling like shit and rushing off to throw up!
ETA Also, there was a lot of expressed anger in the feature last night, which was rarely so expressed in the original two series. It made for uncomfortable watching.

I enjoyed it - yay for Warren! The only bit that didn't ring true was the rich Miles with Vietnamese model wife -v- broke Miles who's wife left him within 10 minutes bit - thought the rest was pretty true to the original.
