i love it, it's always just starting as i get back from work:)

i i was 13 when i first saw it so it is weird seeing it now as a "grown-up". i'm surprised at how not dated it seems.

as for ferdy, i was shocked to see him turn up in the mighty boosh!

egg is hot.

watched it last night, that classic anna retort

Miles: you just want to cut my balls off

anna: I'd have to find them first:eek:

last night when she was late to meet miles, she couldn't call him or text him, the show is historical now, hardly anyone had phones in those days

The no mobile phones thing is odd, just shows you how shite and chunky they must have been even as recently as then.

Am still enjoying the ones I've caught, second time around, Egg and his dad are funny. I remember Warren having a great line, "rrrright, I'm off to get some cock!" hope I haven't missed that.

Episode last week I'm afraid when the lovely Delilah was stopping over (altho there's always the chance it'll come up again, fnar, fnar ;) )

Yep... The series has dated horribly... All the technology (espcially the CRT monitors and tvs) looks clunky... Pretty amazing for only 10 years...! :( I've stopped watching the re-runs as, while they were perfect for their time, everyone has moved on. Its a bit like looking at FriendsReunited and realising what twats your mates at school were....

Yeah I have trouble watching The Robe now, why can't Burton just text Jesus and that?

ffs.

Just watching the way people couldn't communicate with each other on a whim only 10 years ago is weird full stop.

It's interesting from a comedy perspective - the ubiquity of mobiles has meant that many old slapstick routine have to be rethought...

1. Mobile battery dead...which is a bit of a cop-out really
2. No signal...only really applicable in the wilds

But...it's meant that newer forms can take it's place...

1. Mis-sent texts
2. Unlistened to voicemails (already done in Green Wing)

As technology closes one comedy door, another one opens...

Apart from the technology this doesn't seem to have dated much at all. It's interesting to see how the 'jerky' camerwork is used in almost everything these days - This Life pioneered it.

Also I've never forgotten Egg's immortal "I remember when I first had a wank - I couldn't believe you could have that much fun for free - and it's on tap!".

Classic.

They have already made it. We all thought it was going to be shown at Christmas time (mostly because that is what we kept being told!), but they announced tonight that it's going to be shown on 2nd January.

Warren just looks so gorgeous, doesn't he? I remember the first and second time I saw that episode, I was convinced they were about to make the 3rd series, and that that was why they brought Warren back.

It took them 10 years, and then they only made a one off!

Hooooooray. Repeated again now Mon-Thurs, top stuff. :D

Load.

Of.

Old.

Bollocks.

Tell you what would be nice - fucking BBC commisioning execs coming up with some new material!

Slim chance... they've a personal bank account to manage...

Oh well, there's always YouTube...

Whose funeral do you think it'll be in the reunion special then?

I'd guess Miles or Egg, they're the only ones who seem to have had any sort of career since.

I reckon Miles but hoping it's Milly.

Try NYPD Blue about 3 or 4 years prior to This Life if you want to look at the first mainstream TV usage of the technique...

i was going to say that

bike crash?

Too obvious isn't it? Ditto Milly/heart attack, Anna/suicide and Warren/Aids.

Could be Miles/Aids from the Delilah episode?
