Where is my mind?
I was looking forward to the film, although I can't say how historically accurate it was, certainly in 78-9 there were plenty of skins around in London - I remember well the North London Sharps and the Archway Tweenies. Some were cool, some were thick and a lot if them were in bed with the BNP. And that Combo one was alarmingly familiar.
The only thing which didn't work for me was young Shaun being 12. Just unrealistic. I seriously can't see his mum letting him have the run of the streets or hang out with those much older men, and I can't see the guys hanging out with a 12 year old, or him copping off with a 16 yr old girl. It would have all gelled much better if he'd been 14 or 15.
Good film, though. The scene of the racist abuse of the shopkeeper stayed with me for a long time *shudders*
