This used to drive me round the bend when I lived in Brixton! It's the repetition of 'bus' in 'bus stop'that gets on my nerves. Where else would it be bloody stopping.

But surely the bus stops before the doors open, giving you enough time to get out of the way of the doors? And the doors slide along the outside of the bus on most buses, no? It's less annoying than the fucking bleeping though. That's balls.

I *think* there might have been plans to have the names of stop announced on buses like they do on the tubes (and trams) Better get yourself a motorbike derv

I think announcing the names of the stops is a great idea - especially for tourists, or people who don't know where they're supposed to get off.

It was the announcement of tram stops in Amsterdam that enabled me to get off at the right stop during our last trip, where we arrived in the city a different way than usual!
