Thinking about getting a Palm Centro!

Ah cool will check em out. Regarding ChatterEmail, it's trying to download every email in my Gmail account which is tons! Any way for it to just download and keep the past 7 days or something? Looked in the options and can't seem to find anything like that (although it may be turned off in the trial version)...

In gmail account -> edit mailbox -> deliver you can chose how many latest messages you want Chatteremail to download. I've got mine set to 30. Have you marked them as read in Gmail?

You can also set auto time downloads, background sync and the amount of lines per message to download (mine is set at 40), as well as choosing to put all your messages on your SD card.

Yep done all that, still downloading old messages but not new ones...very odd...oh yeah any suggestion for a case or cover? Dropped the bloody thing this morning and don't fancy junking a brand new phone!

I've no idea what your GMail problem is - I think Ianw had the same thing on his Mac once so maybe do a search here.

I don't use cases - the Centro is pretty tough - but there are loads of them about,. Check out some of the Palm sites or Expansys.

Yeah me either, for some reason it keeps d/ling email from two years ago but not the most recent...gonna get a mate to have a look and try SnapperMail on trial too.

Fucking hell Agendus is mental! Just installed it, there's sooo many options! The calendar view alone is nuts, and you can edit icons (oh man geek heaven!)! :D:cool:

Also trialling the Takephone and loving it, makes the phone look very cool and the i bar thing is very useful (have agendus, the facebook app and this cool free weather app in it)! I reckon I might just shell out for the full version...:o

Agendus rocks - it's one of the things that I missed so much when I had WM that I was lured back to Palm. The desktop version is ace too - and you can download icon packs with zillions of choices, and make your own (I have an u75 one and a few others). They're about to roll out a proper 'Projects' extension for the desktop app which will make it a lot more useful for me.

Takephone is great too - I don't think there's anything faster on any platform for finding/email/texting/emailing contacts. It can also take you straight to their address in GoogleMaps too. :)

If you've got GPS, this free app is useful:
Where Am I? (or WAI for short) is a small application that interfaces your Bluetooth GPS receiver with map software (recently with Google Maps Mobile - GMM). What it recently does is query GPS about your current location and then tells GMM to show that position on the map...

And if you haven't this one is handy too:

Ah cool. Yeah Agendus is giddy inducing option wise, still faffing about with the icon editor, think I might make some mario ones heh!

I've only just noticed the 'fast mode' button on the Blazer toolbar (the lightning bolt).

Hit that puppy and you get bare-bones, no frills super fast browsing. Neat.

Still having odd d/l everything prob with Chatter, going to try snapper mail to see how that works. TakePhone is fantastic looking and very useful too, going to get that when the trial runs out. Quite like the Treo memo app mainly because there's something nice about it being yellow paper looking...!

One syncs with the Calendar/Contacts/Tasks in Palm Desktop, one Syncs with Outlook. Depends which desktop app you use for your PIM

Cool, looks like us Centro owners are getting My Location for Google Maps (used to like that on my n73)!

Palm has sent out a press release today jointly announcing the new unlocked GSM Centro as well as a new version of Google Maps with the My Location feature enabled. The "My Location" functionality on Palm OS will only be compatible with the Palm Centro according to Palm.

Google's My Location feature is a GPS SatNav like feature for Google Maps Mobile that automatically displays your approximate location. It works by triangulating your position based on the feedback from nearby cell towers that you are connected to. The feature originally debuted in beta for Windows Mobile devices late last year, and Palm pledged to support it on "newer Palm phones."

E2A: Damn looks like its US only...lame asses.

The landlord and his wife at the Albert have now got Centros each after seeing mine!
She's got the white one which looks lovely.

I'm digging it very much - first the excellent FaceBook app and mow this. Could Palm be waking up?!

I like the way you can just type 'pub' into the search box and you get a list of pubs with their location, phone number and website URL with the option to get directions. Very slick.

Here's a direct link to download the new Googlemap app: http://www.google.com/gmm/GoogleMaps.prc

Ah didn't realise there was a dedicated app, what's different from having it vs the other one?
You've lost me here. Are you talking about the Palm Facebook app or the new Googlemaps?

Btw, I'm getting some bollocking shite off T Mobile at the moment which won't let me access the web via the browser, but data/email etc works fine. Grrr!

Is it different to the link I posted above?

Really? Hmmm my web has been ok a bit flaky at time but generally ok...

Anyone got any good suggestions for project management software for the Centro? Preferably one that has a desktop counterpart built in that I can work from then sync with the phone.
