Things to serve with a chocolate torte

Nah, stuff got busy ;)

Might be a job for Friday, depends if I can knuckle down and get the work I need to get done done by then, otherwise I get to spend all Friday doing it :(

But thanks for reminding me!!

Doesn't take long at all, when using ready made pastry cases that is...

Ginger ice cream
Ooh, where do you get that from? Ginger and chocolate is a very good call. :)

That made me think of another suggestion, pear sorbet, the one I get is a Carrefour own brand, don't know if you can get it in the UK, surely someone must make it?

And Carrefour also make a bar of chocolate called Poire Noir, which is dark chocolate with little bits of pear in it, which is truly scrumptious, so maybe melting a bar or two of something like that and serving it as a sauce might work as well. :)

Approximate amounts here:

200g very very dark good quality chocolate
250ml single cream
30g butter (slightly salted)
sugar to taste

Put the cream in a pan, heat gently, then add the chocolate. Once the chocolate is melted, add the butter. Add sugar to taste. Once you've made it a few times, you get to know exactly the right consistency and taste. If you like, you can add some tia kahlua or rum.

Pour into a ready made pastry case, or on top of crushed digestives with butter in the bottom of a cake tin.

Can anyone translate that in Merican?
