Things To Make With Your Food Processor

Tonight I made my first ever carrot & coriander soup and it was very good!

Carrot & Coriander Soup

1 onion, chopped finely
6 organic carrots, peeled and sliced
a handful of coriander
a small clove of garlic
vegetable stock
double cream
salt & pepper
grated nutmeg

Fry the onion and garlic in some olive oil til translucent. Add the sliced carrots and coriander and fry for 5-10 mins on a medium heat. Add 1 pint of stock and let it simmer til soft (add more stock if needed). Blend til smooth and keep adding stock til you get the right consistency, not forgetting to add some cream, salt & pepper and grated nutmeg.

Mmmmh :)

I love making carrot soup, but only if I get the carrot/stock ratio right and end up with a thick consistency. Too watery and it's pretty grim.

I've got all that coriander in my fridge: perhaps I'll do a carrot soup

As it was my first time making it I was worried about the consistency so I decided to add 1 pint of stock into the pan of carrots and stuff and then blend the mixture and add more stock bit by bit, checking with my wooden spoon, til I got the right consistency.

Thought I'd bump this (is that allowed?) as I now have a processor.

I'll type in some stuff I've tried when I'm at the computer (tapping with a stylus atm).

I was just thinking: Christ I havent seen SZC post anything for about a year. Then I looked at the date. Oh well :(

Guacamole

That aubergine thing... baba ganoush

Other dips

Soup (either partially blended or fully blended)

Things I make in my food processor:

pastry
cake mix
salsa verde
hummus
guacamole

Going to make some Thai curry pastes and stuff in the minibowl when I get round to acquiring the ingredients.

Yeah. I completely accidentally was looking at old posts and so I didn't realise it was an old thread at first either.

You've just reminded me that I saved a load of dip and pate recipes off here ages ago. I can now make them. woohoo!

Cake mix! Wicked. I gave up on pastry and such because my arms/hands are shit. I've just got no idea what it can do. :D

We made pesto last night (well, 4am just when the party upstairs was winding down) and that worked well. Think the olive oil I've got is a but crap tho and that's possibly what when wrong with stuff the other day. :hmm:

I used my new Magimix to make a banana cake last week. There were some recipes in the booklet that came with it but I don't fancy any of them. My banana cake was from a Delia recipe.
