I agree with this - great festie food. And theres nowt wrong with tinned tuna, I'll have you know.

On the other hand, mushrooms in tins should be banned, and if anyone's ever experienced the horror that is tinned processed cheese, you have my sympathies.

if it not been said:

Tinned fish is just wrong. Compressed little cans of dandruffed fish-flaked nastiness, added like slurry to pasta sauces and mixed with industrial gloop mayonaisse to mask the unnatural flavour.

The spanish may do it better with their meatily preserved Ortiz cans, but we've thankfully gone well past the point where Napoleon's army were impressed by preserving any old nastiness in tin. Let us salute the humble fridge/freezer...
Tinned sardines are yummy

Very yummy indeed imo.

As are tinned mackerel fillets.

I sometimes stir a can of Sardines in Oil into Tesco own brand instant mash (flakes) ... sometimes with a few cold baked beans ... tahini ... chilli sauce ...

Christ knows where you buy your mackerel from then. Fresh mackerel bears absolutely no resemblance to tinned which is fucking vile. Like tinned sardines

Even when you find some really big scales or when the bones are big and crunchy. Yuk! Oh god I feel sick just thinking about it.
The real pity is they don't do tinned sprats with their heads on so you can eat them whole ;)

Fray bentos pies are a bit of a guilty pleasure. They are rubbish compared to a real pie, but they certainly hit the spot...
