They've got the fourth bomber!

Just that the "location" would seem to make it a tad strange that you're getting all worked up about who is being allowed into "the country" if you've decided to live elsewhere yourself....

No bother ! I was just taking the piss out of that crackpot with his National lottery public execution malarky, which I think he/she meant seriously!

I'm guessing that one was a joke.

New poster, but a finely tuned sense of humour - not long before there's a couple of nominations for the "funny quotes" thread, I reckon....

It bothers me more how he managed to get in the country if it turns out he wasn't born in Britain and, like one of the others arrested today, was recently granted citizenship of Britain.
If he had no criminal record and no known connection with terrorists why should he have been stopped from coming into the country?

is a failed sucide bomber at risk of killing themselves ? if the 5th bomber bottled it surely he is harmless cant go back to his own organisation
and not likely to get a second chance .So either kills himself hands himself over to authorites or keeps his head down .
Maybe the bomb screwed up and he ditched it?

Well he had brown skin and he was a muslim - what more evidence do you need?

(is that the point that you trying to make Floh?)

Wow, there it was on ITV. The 2 men from the CCTV images in their pants, on a roof in West London, wiping the gas from their faces, with armed police pointing guns at them.

yes  that was crazy!
and the kids, jesus

Maybe he deceitfully ticked "no" on the bit of the form that asks "will you ever at some point in the future attempt to carry out a suicide bombing?" These people are awfully cunning..

Why is the footage of the arrest of the guy in Notting Hill credited 'ITV/Daily Mail. Are they in some kind of vile tie-in that I don't know about?

The immigration service recently re-introduced passport checks on those leaving the country via Heathrow but they are fairly cursory, their PCs weren't even booted up fully. Just a glance at the passport and no scanning like on entry, then again I'm as white as milk.

Last I checked (2½ years ago) Associated, which owns the Mail, owned 20% of ITN and ITV (Carlton/Granada) 40%. Not sure what their holding in ITV is.

Well, having seen the footage earlier showing someone who seems fairly obviously to be the same guy as one in the CCTV photos, being arrested on that balcony, it begins to look more likely that the police got this bit right.

It does them credit if so.

I doubt that would stand up in court though, would it? (For instance, even disregarding the point that prior to a trial nobody can be said to have done it, you don't know for sure that the chap in the CCTV picture actually did anything.)

No. I'm sure you're quite right.

I'm just suggesting that so far this looks OK, after the Stockwell business I'm certainly not going to blindly assume they got it right until that is proven.

Well it certainly looks a damned sight better than the Stockwell business. But that's the point. If a man can be shot dead because of assumptions, people shouldn't be making assumptions.
