I'm sorry if you find people wanting to support refugees and Muslims as objectionable, but you'll find that they're amongst the poorest; find it most difficult to get welfare; live in some of the worst housing conditions
It's sad that often the "targetting" of a specific sector of the populace by political idealogues (of whichever stripe) is done purely as an exercise in gaining wider political legitimacy, and has no lasting benefit for the targetted sector. One only has to examine 20th-century local and national politics to see this.
Thanks for trying to push the thread back on-topic though.

The whole "heirarchy of oppression" thing really pisses me off. I hate this whole thing where - if your not part of the left's current most-favoured oppressed group (but are oppressed in some way nonetheless) - then you can just fuck right off and suffer quietly, please; as they've got more "important" people to worry about.
Exactly, but it was treelover who raised the spectre of ethnic and religious difference on this thread so he could as usual bring his sectarian agenda into play.
That ^ is "better" is it? Do me a favour. How is arguing a political point being an "automaton" pray tell?
Could you also elaborate on what you mean by being "very selective on human rights"? Cos throwing around empty phrases and calling people names doesn't really cut it.
