it's only rock-bores who complain about people not writing their own stuff. usually when talking about girls aloud...

It's the only "criticism" that they can find, because surely everyone acknowledges that their music is pure unadulterated genius.

I have a couple of counterarguments to the rockists' views. Firstly, would they want wonderful girly pop songs performed by fat hairy middle-aged men? Secondly, did Shakespeare act out all his plays as monologues, and does Robert De Niro write and direct all his films? And does that thus make them crap?

Yep but there's not much danger of that with the fall and HMHB is there?

The Fall are always doing covers, and so much stuff in HMHB relys on puns or twists on other earlier music................
