These trainers, yes or no?

Stan's into something a bit more old school..

Drool... I have a pair of these in red, but with three velcro strips instead of laces. I'm a bit of a sneaker/trainer freak.

revol's got pawned again.

those brown nikes you posted are soo fucking try hard, honestly if you wanna wear hi tops wear hi tops but don't try and make them more grown up by getting them in a faux vintage leather.

my crayola trainers atleast don't reek of Shoreditch desperado.

they look like a duplo version of trainers if real trainers were made from lego.

if you see what i mean.

and obviously duplo is shite compare to lego

it's their chunky boldness I like, be like sticking your feet in a pair of My First Tony Mech Warrior!

They look a bit sk8er boi to me, and I think you're a bit old for that. Then again I got my trainers from a free shop so I'm probably not one to give fashion advice.

They're green, white and orange, in case no one's noticed yet.

Glad to see you're finally acknowledging your true, primordial Gaelic identity at last, revol.

Not bad at all; I'd have to think hard about the colours ... Prefer the solidity and honesty of Air Force 1s myself, but each to his own. There's a lot of clueless trainer talk going on here, btw ...

i nearly like all these nu raver primary colour combinations - but i actually fall down on the side of hating them very much. It's something about the shade of blue, i think.

It is - I'm drawn toward tonka trainers myself. None of this sleek runners business. I haven't got any in the crazy colours he's considering but I like chunky shoes and I like crazy colours. I think they're good.

You're a grown man extolling the virtue of the tonka toy. I find this more worrying than the anarcho-gnome's taste in trainers :p

Yeah, but you're a grown woman extolling hideous multicoloured horror pumps by comparing them to Tonka Toys, thereby not only implying that Tonka Toys are indeed great (although for kids, obviously), but also soiling their reputation by linking them to said footware.

So there.

:p

i have nothing against chunky multicoloured trainers as a rule, but i don't like those ones. they look a bit shite, to be honest. they're not chunky enough, i reckon.

Nike do make the best trainers, but these are a bit Nathan Barley for me.

Hmmm...Nike certainly played their part, and some of the runners they put out in the 80s were stunning - Internationalist, Omega, Odyssey, Oceania, Epic etc. My favourite trainers at the moment are my Nike Vortex, which are as close as I'll get to the Nike Airborne I had in about 1986.

Overall though, Adidas have made more classics than Nike.

As for the Nikes in the OP - it's a 'no' from me.

Nike Vortex are mint. I love my Nike Elite as well.

Inclined to agree that Adidas are the classic kings.
