Setting boundaries.. and the reason behind those boundaries.. in a place away from these kids general area seems to work.. It's not that these kids don't know or appreciate the boundaries.. it's more they dont have the support within their community to realise them..

It's only when they are taken out of their familiar situation that the realisation of how stupidly they are behaving occurs..

See, that does make sense to me, but what interests me is that it seems to 'work' even when the strict parents aren't just being strict, but doing something I consider reprehensible. The way the strict Dad in Atlanta was shouting in the boy's face, full of rage, it seemed like he was possibly only holding back from physical punishment because the cameras were on him. And yet the boy came out of the whole thing really happy and determined to change.
