The World's Healthiest Foods

That questionaire was a bit odd, I lost points 'cos I couldn't tick any of the grain options but I'm allergic to gluten ffs, what am I meant to do? No option for brown rice either, which I eat like it's going out of fashion.

I was talking about this site/test to my boyfriend last night and I said to him that although it's interesting and educational it's also inaccurate and rigid. I think you have to accept that you can't always eat certain things, sometimes you'll forget, sometimes you'll eat more carrots than apples, more berries than brown rice and vice versa.

It's a good guide and I like the way they include seaweed and herbs and randomn grains but I wouldn't base my diet on exactly what they say. People know best what suits them individually, if they have mild allergies or something (e.g I would eat salmon fillets all the time but they make me feel nauseous and headachey after eating them....I can eat smoked and tinned salmon though). In my experience, if you do enough reading and discuss it with others, over time you come to know what you need and what you don't eat enough of :)

and americanised - you forgot americanised :D cups indeed

Is there a site out there that lists all the foods that are bad for us? That would be interesting too I think.

well in response to that site I have added shittake mushrooms to my cassarole and about twice as much miso as usual. :)

But this is as far as I'm going, though I'm toying with adding seaweed, does anyone think it would be good in a cassarole?

Just add some wakame seaweed to your miso soup.

I've decided to stop being a silly bugger and use my wakame, miso paste etc to make miso soup at least 3 times a weak.

Tests in Japan have linked it to a lower rate of breast cancer in women (miso that is) and in general it's just really healthy.

V cool site. Wish I had the time in the morning to make some of their yummy breakfasts. Might try me a power smoothie tomorrow.

I have miso soup all the time (I live in Korea) but I've been given bags and bags of seasoned seaweed by someone as a gift and I have no idea how to use it all up!:o

I'm not sure tbh. The only seaweed I use is wakame which is small, shrivelled and very dark green strips, you soak it in water for 15 mins and it expands and becomes slimey (but it's nice :D)

Ask gaijingirl, she'll almost definitely be able to help you. :)
