Who the bleeding heck eats seaweed daily? (except for the Japanese)

The Japanese :p

They have a good diet, lots of fish, tofu/soybean stuff, miso is super healthy and seaweed which no one else eats but is one of the most nutritious foods ever.

I have some wakame seaweed at home, piss cheap and lasts forever (it's dried and you need to soak it for 15 mins and it expands....oooh!) I should start eating more of it......

I think I should cut down on the mayonnaise, cheese and pate too :o (It's that bloody Frenchboy!)

I don't drink enough water to be sure but I eat loads of fruit.

Where do you buy that seaweed stuff? There is an amazing Japanese market in Soho but I can't remember what its called. Might pop down there for lunch, I fancy some Edamama.

Well I go on a far and long travel to....Edgeware and go to a big shopping mall/restaurant place called Oriental City. They have a big supermarket with all sorts of stuff, frozen edamame, gyozas, dumplings etc, sushi, pickles, miso paste, rice, noodles, seaweed, sauces etc etc it's well cool.

Trashpony - yeah innit, he'll probably think you're 10 years younger than you are if he meets you sober/well slept, 12 if you've been in a coma and 20 if you're dead  ;) :D

Has anyone tried the food adviser thingy?

"62% of your total day's calories from the World's Healthiest Foods." Apparently you need to aim for at least 75% to be in "the safe zone".

I thought I was quite healthy.

93% with no cheating. Phew, I'm so damn healthy!

Only two major deficiencies, vitamin b12 and vitamin d.

That's because I'm a meat eater who doesn't eat meat.

*starts plotting how to come by some nice roast lamb or something*

I got 68%

I know what I have to do though, I need to eat more fruits, more miso soup with tofu and wakame seaweed in it, samphire is seaweed isn't it? I should eat more of that (fuck knows where to buy it) and I need to eat more nuts + seeds.

:o

They sell various seaweeds in Brixton wholefoods and also in Wing Tai. :)

I was just kidding :)

Ok, cool, we should go soon (on the pretense that we are being dedicated health nuts stocking up on miso paste and seaweed when really we'll spend 4 hrs in the food court eating from country to country ;) )

Pika's never been before, he'd love it.

Problem is when I go to Oriental City etc I end up bypassing all the seaweed and come back laden with this stuff...

Does that mean you aren't veggie but just choose not to eat meat?

It means that in theory I'm an omnivore. But due to being so bloody fussy about meat eating (no factory farmed, no supermarket sold, I'll only eat it if it I know what it's name was, etc etc...) and living in a veggie household, the opportunities are pretty rare.

Although I will go 'fuckit i'll have the lamb mirchi' in a curryhouse occasionally.

And if I'm really really hungry, I'll eat any old shite.

On that advisor thingy I score 76% - it tells me I need to eat more liver and venison - which is a bit odd.

Thanks gaijingirl :)

I went to The Japanese Canteen for lunch (luckily for me, it's literally right outside our door) and spent £10 (:o ) so I could gorge myself on miso soup, yaki udon (fried noodles + prawns) and vegetable gyozas

However, as I went into the office one of my colleagues said "Ooh, are you gonna start bending forward now?" and "Ooh, are you gonna start taking lots of pictures?"

Ha ha .................heh

i am so fed up of the racist, sexist crap i hear at work, someone please rescue me and take me on holiday in the land of Crack Induced Hallucination or summat...

Cripes! I only scored 50%!

I eat loads of fruit ad veg and beans and stuff - just not the ones they list.
Fecking Collard greens indeed.
What the pissing hell is that??
Oh and spinach may be top of the list of things I need to eat but there's a good reason that I don't eat it - because it's horrible :)

E2A: Great site though with some nice foodie ideas

Don't worry I only got 46% and I know my diet is way better than that. Think I must have got my calculations wrong cos I'm trying to do it quickly at work. Only thing I know I could do with more of is fresh fruit - the fruit I really love is too expensive/faffy to buy v.often (pineapple, melon, berries). Apples bore me rigid and I have a banana in my breakfast every day. I mean, what's a girl to do?

Is there a Fresh and Wild in Brixton?

There's one near me in Camden and its bloody brilliant (apart from the long queues on weekends. I bet they sell 90% of the food on that website.

I did the quiz thing, but it's almost impossible to fill it in properly I reckon. I came out at only 38% -- but I eat around 9 portions of fruit and veg a day. Yesterday I had 16!!
