The Wire: what the cast did next!

"Like a banshie that wails in the night"
"I want to walk into your eyes, into your skin and bones"

I like it.

:D:D

He's a crooner! A broke down crooner!

Clarke Peters is an accomplished musical star.

Lance and Clarke- The Wire Singers; they'll clean up on the wedding and Bar Mitzvah circuit!

I wasn't surprised by that - must have heard him speaking naturally before he did Dr Who.

yeah, he uses his 'natural' voice in Blackpool - but I assumed that that was the one he was putting on! Cant remember what he sounded like in Duck Patrol

i think the casting in the Wire is the best i've ever seen. most of the actors i'd never come across before (having not watched Homicide), which i found refreshing - and i think most are absolutely stunning choices.

it's made me want to be a casting agent in my parallel, more successful and zingy, life.

so McNulty's a posho eh :D i'd never have known. i think he did good.

"West was born into an Irish Catholic family in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England to George West, who owned a plastics factory, and to Moya, a housewife. West attended Eton College and Trinity College, Dublin."

The casting is ace! Every time I come across one of them in a different role, it shocks me a little! I keep seeing Briana and Lt Daniels in things.

Briana was in the West Wing!

i heard mcnulty on 'private passions' on radio 3 at the weekend... it was a shock.

his accent keeps slipping when i watch the wire now - didn't notice that at all before the weekend. :D

There was one moment, in season 3 I think, where it hit me like a sledgehammer but otherwise I don't notice it that much, although I've hear others say the same as you

Shark eyes, perfect description.

That whole bit when he was 'romancing' the Barksdale moll was downright creepy. And he was trying to be charming and affable!

Not sure if you lot over there get Damages, the crime drama starring Glenn Close.

Anyway, we're half-way through the second season over here, and Clarke Peters (Lester Freamon) and John Doman (Bill Rawls) both play fairly major characters. And David Costabile (Thomas Klebanow, Managing Editor of The Sun in Season 5) has been in both seasons of Damages.

Apparently Idris Elba (Stringer Bell) is going to be making a guest appearance on the American version of The Office later this season. According to news sources, they've signed him for 6 episodes.

Lance Reddick (Cedric Daniels), as well as having a MySpace page and a budding musical career (:D), is currently starring on a sort of X Files-ish show called Fringe, about FBI agents who investigate unexplained phenomena. I haven't seen an episode, but the ads make it look truly dire.

I was also quite surprised to see Domenick Lombardozzi (Herc) show up in an episode of Entourage this season. Paul Ben-Victor (Spiros Vondopoulos) also was in an episode this season, as a movie exec.

Just before i left Baltimore last summer, Maria Broom (Marla Daniels) was doing a local show highlighting aspects of Baltimore life. It looked pretty awful, and i felt bad for her.

Paul Ben-Victor is in John From Cincinnati playing a comedy sidekick to a Hawaiian drug dealer played by Charlie Utter from Deadwood
