The White Stripes go pearly!

A few are on ebay for over £120 each.

Plus the fuckers at ticketmaster are charging a £11.25 booking fee for 2 tickets that you have to collect from the bloody venue  The G realy has to sort out touting and how these fucking websites run things.

That's terrible. In the past you could avoid paying the booking fee by collecting from the venue - you don't usually get this option now.

Has anyone read the review about the Nashville gig in NME? There's an intriguing finishing line:

Jack's back and he's warming up for Glasto part two. Hushed silence awaits...

Do you think...maybe...??

I just checked the dates again, and they're playing Tennessee on 17th June, and then BC on the 24th...leaving 22nd and 23rd open...I thought initially this might be just some time off...but now I'm wondering

What do you reckon?

Is BC British Columbia? I don't think they could play the 23rd and get there in time, but maybe the 22nd?

Did you hear about them playing a gig for the Chelsea Pensioners?

It's not entirely unfeasible though, is it?

They've now added two more dates however, 19th in New York, and 20th in California (is CA California?), and then still nothing til 24th...22nd is still very do-able

Yeh, I heard about that - I'm a member of a total fangirl/boy site so get all the goss dead quick - with pics and everything :D

e2a yeh BC is British Columbia

I've just heard the new album and it's brilliant.

Only heard it once but it sounds more 'Elephant' that 'Get Behind Me Satan'.

And it really fucking rocks. :D

My bloody copy still hasn't come

But the tracks I've heard so far make me think the same :)

'Catch Hell Blues' is my current favourite off the new one.

Wicked slide guitar - reminds me of one of their bluesy Led-Zeppy old ones like 'Little Bird' or 'Ball And Biscuit'. Very nice. :)

Was it a big venue? All the venues they're playing in the uk are fucking massive. I'm more than a little put out by that

So you'd rather they played smaller venues that it's impossible to get tickets for?

They could have played the smaller venues more than one night.

But it boils down to, do more shows, or do one show. They are popular enough to fill the arena's so they probably choose the later.

Who can blame them.

it was a medium sized venue down at the docks - 2000 people (with two great big ships dominating the huge windows of the venue - one freight ship and an old fashioned sailboat! - and there was a guy there dressed and exactly made up as captain jack sparrow)

and it was very very easy to get tickets for - we brought them from the supermarket!! i like it here!

oh and in the afternoon they did a gig in a bar in town, anounce on the little room messageboard twenty minutes before...... they are doing it at each stop.... including playing on a boat in charlottetown, Prince Edward Island - a place so small that it only got it's first bus last year!

Oh fantastic - I'm insanely jealous now :D Just watched all the secret gigs - the bus one's really funny, some guy nearly wetting his pants :D

You lucky lucky thing

I wish you'd got me tickets for the Rivoli Ballroom show.

That gig was a really sore point for me; Ticketwanker sold most of them on presale over the weekend to all the media types, then put them on sale to the public an hour before they advertised  Absolute cunts.

I never use ticketmaster etc whenever i can avoid them. If the venue itself has a box office, ring that up or use their website. It tends to be much quicker and less faffing about. Plus the website doesn't die on you when 2 million are all trying to get tickets at the same time for one particular tour.

If your an old codger like me you usually get better seats from the venue directly as well.

True, but in this particular case ticket master had the lot. Rivoli doesn't have a box office :(
