No HP, Branston, Brown sauce in this house. We have home made Branston pickle which is actually better than Branston, and I blitz up a jar of it to use as brown sauce.

The wife has brown sauce on bubble/poached eggs on a Monday.

As for bacon sarnie, well that's Tommy K. Or lettuce, mayo and sliced tomatoes.

But fuck a duck, never mustard.
 
Bacon is too thin and delicate to have lashings of sauce and definitely not mustard; both have the ability to overwhelm the bacon.
If you must have sauce with it, then it really must be done sparingly.
 
Plain bread HP sauce and bacon. Devine.
Although I try to use the HP sauce made in The Netherlands rather than the one made in Spain if possible. The Spanish variant tends to be too sweet I have found in previous breakfasts.
 
This seems as good as place as any to drop this; Maynard Davies, the esteemed bacon curer has just died aged 87. Sorry, can't find a postable obituary. Maynard
