I do think they were one of these bands that people got put off of because of overplaying. I was in Paris when "Bittersweet Symphony" came out, so missed most of the overplay it received, and thus never came to despise them as much as some people.

I think they're great. 'History' is one of the most moving songs ever! And I like his solo stuff.

when they started out, doing all that space rock / psychedelic nonsense, they were pretty bad at it. So they jacked it in to become the indie Bon Jovi.
