the urban75 football club 2008: worth a shot?

I've been keeping under the radar for quite a while now, but this has tempted me out.

I'm moving back to London at the end of April and have been looking for somewhere to play regular footy. I haven't played for over a year and when I did I can't say I was particularly good, but I'll run till my lungs burst and I'm pretty sure I could convince a ringer to join us, and he is actually quite good.

Oh, and I'll be coming from north London but will travel to most places.

ok, so far then we have the following defiates:
Kizmet
Termite Man
sleaterkinney
ivebeenhigh

an the following yes's on condition:
g force - fitness
ChrisFilter - laziness/location
christonabike - loaction

and one seriously tempted but logistics might mean a no
epico

my boss reckons he could get a gang together for us to play if in central lcoation (i.e. maybe regents park)....[/QUOTE]

Hmmm, work types to beat up again! ;)I'd be up for a match!

Have mates who are itching for a game also.

ok, so by my reckoning i make that 11ish, and chrisfilter

plus a couple of possible ringers

this is looking promising

will post a poll sometime tomorrow to think about location and date etc....bit busy being mummy at the mo.... ;)

I reckon we pick a place and a day of the week, keep to that and do a roll call each week, but people who just want to turn up can do.

that's what we've done before and it hasn't always worked, but guess there's little alternative

gonna do a poll....

If you ran it from sunday to sunday for the following week then you should get a decent turn out. Multiple choice is best.

If all we're doing for the moment is jumpers for goalposts in a park I think u75 fc might need a bit of a rebranding to attract more people. I think some people can be a bit anti anything with the word 'club' in it.

or maybe i've over-thinking it.. :hmm:

i'll be up for it!

We need to bring back the glory days of 2004 and 2005

I'll play anywhere as well: Brixton, south London, central London, Clissold Park, goalkeeper, midfield and attack ;)

I can prob get a few locals along as well - a few urbs and maybe some others.

from May I will be playing with a ball made of rags with various small Ronaldinhos on the beaches of Brazil, won't be back until August so will check back then to see if you are still playing:cool:

righty oh

hope that time suits everyone, if not say here asap

someone needs to bing a ball and a few jumpers for goalposts too ;)

I have a (flat) ball and there are real goalposts up ( I'm looking at them now )

right, well then, we only need a pumped up ball

and thinking about it, might make more sense to meet in the hob garden? close to pre match refreshments for those who get there early.... ;)

I can just look out my window to see if anyones has arrived on the pitch :D

I voted on the other thread & I'd not seen this one.

I fucked up though cos I can't actually do Tuesdays after all. I play elsewhere Thursdays so for me it'd have to be Monday or Wednesday or possible Friday (but that's not ideal).
