the urban75 football club 2008: worth a shot?

Rollem

two kinds of wonderful
right then you 'orrible lot

soon the fairer weather will be upon us, i going on past history, i reckon if we start discussing now the possibilty of getting a gang of 7 (or more) together on a regualr basis, we should be able to get a group together to actually play by the end of may ;)

so, is anyone interested in getting together some sort of team anymore? do people think we can guarantee to get the required numbers on a regular basis without too much stress and hassle? or is it time to accept defeat, and let this thread vanish into the realms of past victories?

i dont mind being the one to badger, nag and email people to make sure they turn up, but i dont want to waste my time and effort if peopel really aren't intersted.

over to the boys in red(and white)....

I need to get fit first but i'll happily be a squad member just not good enough right now for the first team :D

Any ideas on whereabouts for practice (live S. London work in the City)

Argh, I'd be so tempted.
But I think I live too far out to take part on a regular basis (Guildford/Woking).

edit- that, and i'm shit

edit- that, and i'm shit

Trust me, that's pretty much a pre-requisite.
:D

i am guessing that it would all happen around south or central london as they tend to be the easiest places for people to get to. we'd sort out location etc once we have enough vices in the mix....before the team ahs played in brockwell park and regents park, fairly regulalry

all depends on final numbers, but we could look into entering a league again (tho would only be prepared to do this on the guarantee of requierd numbers each week, else people end up out of pocket!)

I did mention joining a league on the main sticky thread but that idea didn't seem to popular . I'm happy whether it's a league or just a regular kick about !

If it's in Brixton and not a Monday (when I play) I'd be up for it

I run a seven a side team and have 21 phone numbers of players in my phone, how many players were there last night:

6, and no keeper, we lost 8-2

It can be a right cunt organising stuff like this, you ring everyone in the week and then on Monday morning, or even on the way home from work, folks drop out for whatever reason

It is fun though and I can pick who I like, being the boss, haha

:)

It's a new season every ten weeks and we get so excited at the prospect of getting promotion from League 4, the bottom league

Then it goes tits up

Everytime

I have started smoking neat weed reefers before games again as it makes fuck all difference

:)

i am well up for it, already playing twice a week on a monday and wednesday. brockwell is perfect for me. there are a good few from the two games that i play that would be up for it too.

last night we had 6 people turn up for our 5 aside as well. it was knackering.

I wouldn't be interested in a league, or 5-a-side pitches. A kickabout in the park that ends 37-33 is my kinda game. Wild attempts at overhead kicks ahoy!

ok, so far then we have the following defiates:
Kizmet
Termite Man
sleaterkinney
ivebeenhigh

an the following yes's on condition:
g force - fitness
ChrisFilter - laziness/location
christonabike - loaction

and one seriously tempted but logistics might mean a no
epico

my boss reckons he could get a gang together for us to play if in central lcoation (i.e. maybe regents park)....

I;ll definitely play just saying i'll be shite cos of fitness but if we're not in a league who cares :D:D
