When is NZ going to actually play England?
Sorry, and FTFY
So. Everyone looking forward to the Ireland v Italy match?
Dim problem! And yes, more heads up rugby please. I know last weekend was only one game but it's well nice watching a less Gatland style Welsh team, injury enforced or not.
I can barely contain myself
There's always one "who cares" fixture each round and apologies to the Irish contingent, but this one is mine this weekend.
That's the funny thing, I think. If we hadn't had the injuries we'd still be lining up with a massive bowl of porridge in midfield and our backline moves would still stink to high heaven. If everyone was fit I'd probably go for:
Evans Owens Lee
Warburton Faletau Tips
Liam, North, Davies, Parkes, Patchell, Webb, 1/2p
Bench: Shingler, Bradley, Wynn Jones, Francis, Elias, G Davies, Anscombe
...but then I'd be agonising about the injustice of dropping Shingler out of the XV and Scott W out of the squad, not to mention Adams
Like the look of that.
I'd be surprised if Gats reverts back to plan A now, I do genuinely think his head has been turned by the success of Llanelli and last weekend. Turkball just suits our squad so much better than Gatlandball.
Explain to me how this fits into with 'obsessing with the unimportant' Im genuinely confused.
We were 8 minutes from the beating the ABs in the AI about 3 years ago-so where did our 'obsession with unimportant' derail us then?
can't wait for tomorrow
Um , at 72 mins?
New Zealand vs Wales: All Blacks win thriller with final quarter rally
Wasnt last 8 minutes. 18. My mistake
Oh, I agree (I'm now suffering paroxysms of guilt because I didn't include Biggar in my XXIII (Dan who?))
Question is - was it that Gatland had his head turned by Turk mugnificence or was he forced to pick Turks because the cupboard was bare?
Look back to the Priestland experiment pre WC before last. He was selected as third choice (a la Patchell) because neither Wellies nor 'Ooky were available through injury. He played flat, got our backline moving and presto, we had a viable and very dangerous attack. That was luck, not judgement. He had the option gift wrapped for him and, of course, took it with both hands.
It feels the same for me here. I suspect that without the Biggar injury we'd be looking at a midfield of Davies, Biggar, Williams, Williams - basically a big bag of stodge from which no winger would ever see the ball emerge.
That’s alright. Normally Wales v Scotland is my one to miss but it was a cracker this year. Giving Scotland game a wide berth this weekend.
I give so little a fuck I’m going horse racing.
just going shopping for burgers and beers in readiness for tonight's game . going to be a fascinating match hope it lives up to the billing. So often games don't, I have England to win but by a fine margin which will equate to home advantage. looking forwardsto seeing with how the Welsh cope with Mr Simmons.
You e missed the point entirely!
Any rash predictions? Some kind of informal sweepstake?
I think both sides will score in the 20s and I do hope Wales gets a few more, so I'm saying Wales 25 England 21. Or the other way round!
Is Halfpenny out then?
Wales are -12 (-13 in some places on the handicap). I can’t see them beaten by more than that. Had a few quid on them after making money last week on Wales.
At the risk of ridicule does anybody agree England are a much better team with Haskell in it?
Yup. Confirmed. Anscombe to 15.
Doomed, i tell you, doomed!
bit more ambition this week from Ireland
bit sloppy in the middle
I have wanted to see Patch and Anscombe on the pitch at the same time at some point this year.
Today is not that day though.
Lovely weather for it
great start, cmon Eire!
Italy are pants.
lets us not forget
England at 1/5 at the bookies looks about right to me. Anyone who really fancies Wales should have a punt at 7/2.
England by 12+ points.
Would prefer Wales by 60.
