I would have, but I had to go for a lie down after looking at this thread :o

Lovehunter is one of the best albums ever!

Robert Plant. Repeat after me: aaaaaAAAAAAaaaaAAGH! aaaaaaAAAAAAaaaaaAGH! No, you can't can you?

:p the best is obviously Jimmy Page. Not only can he screech out some kick-ass lyrics but he's probably the sexiest by far!!!!!!!!

You mean, famous guitarist, Jimmy Page?

In terms of looks and ability, I'd say Robert Plant.

In terms of bite-yer-head-off-grrrrness, gotta be Lemmy.

Runners up would be Mike Patton for sheer versatility; Tom Araya (pre-Undisputed Attitude era, when he turned into a crappy hardcore singer); Bruce Dickinson; and, of course, Ronnie James Dio (looks like an ugly hobbit, but he's got a great set of pipes ).

Flat Cap wearing Geordie Rock Legend Brian Johnson.

Not a prayer. He just can't hold a candle to Bon Scott, who when I saw the title of the thread was one of the first names to come to mind.

Bet no-one's mentioned Gary Barden so far, have they.

Best metal 'vocalist' - Ronnie Dio - technically strong, has range, not grating like Axl, doesn't wail like Bruce, just right.

Best metal frontman? That's a different question.

It's All Over Now Baby Blue by Graham Bonnet is one of the best Dylan Covers ever. I didn't know he was in Rainbow.

A gratuitous photo I think...

You have to check out 'Since You've Been Gone' and 'All Night Long'. He made just one album with them, but those were Rainbow's best singles.

It Can't Happen Here and I Surrender are as good.

I used to headbang to them in the school disco :D Whilst being gobbed on by the delightful twats who hated 'trogs'
