That does seem like a fair point... blast! Still not worth £300 though!

your right, though you can get an xb at £129 as long as you never want to run anything like any of your games saves :p...

oh you meant....

that beign said i've got to get a new ps3 i hammered this last one into the ground and the bluray is starting it's dredded crash freeze and non disk read which the early ones had... dammit i though i'd gotten away with it... only happened after i bought the telly too... ffs...

Not even a year old eh? I doubt their returns policy is as generous as Microsoft's either?

look at gta iv or burnout or as games programmed specifically for the ps3 as examples of where you anayology breaks down.

you don't half talk out your arse, gta4 wasn't specifically programmed for the PS3, the reason it runs just slightly smoother is because it runs a 630p on the PS3 instead of full 720p HD.

Fallout 3 is considerably better on 360 than PS3. I don't doubt the PS3 has a good bit more power in it but at the moment and for the forseeable future it won't be made the most ofas nearly all games are multi format and developers just aren't willing to put the time and money into getting the most out of the PS3.

you can save your games with the arcade system, it comes with a 512mb memory card that is more than enough for game saves, i got my arcade for 99 quid from sainsburys and then got a 20 gig hdd and three month xbox live subscription for 20 quid in the upgrade deal for the new dashboard experience.

speaking of talking arse 1080p is full hd love 720p being the Hd ready spec...

btw my copy runs at 720 unless the box is lying to me...you'd think there'd have been at least 1 lawsuit about it by now otherwise...

Anybody who prefers the PSP over the DS is a brain dead automaton who can't think for themselves. The human equivalent of the magpie, collecting shiny things without having any idea why.

oh, and south london knocks north london into a cocked hat. And yes, I have lived in both.

You know Chris I used to respect you but your so wrong on so many things I'm actually wondering what loony bin you've escaped from.

Fuck this, lets get serious:

Commodore 64 vs Spectrum
Amiga Vs St

Actually the 2nd one doesn't really count, cos the Amiga brutally pissed on the ST, and STFU about the STs built in MIDI ports...

Spectrum all the way. Less colours, more speed.

More or less the same thing with the ST vs Amiga as well. Amigas were fine gaming machines, but the ST with Cubase was the useful champ.

Anyone done the SNES vs Megadrive yet? I remember some cunt trying to tell me the MD was better because they bought Sega's bullshit about the sound having 'blast processing'....I just did the usual SNES fanboy retort: "Mode 7 muthafucker!!" :D

This is the standard response of anyone who hasn't used a dark-alex'd PSP in recent months. The PSP plays Playstation games... an enormous back catalogue of amazing games. I've been playing FFVII on my PSP, it looks amazing. The DS can't come anywhere near that (or Gran Turismo, or Tekken, or Wipeout, or MGS, or Gods of War, or PES/Fifa (the DS versions are shocking)). You can keep your cutesy, kiddy Nintendo nonsense.

yeah brilliant. a portable PS1.

great.

had to blow on your microphone recently? Reflect the image from one screen onto the other to solve a puzzle? Draw your own map on the touch screen?

"cutesy, kiddy Nintendo nonsense" :D

ha! That's what I used to say. You're me about 10 years ago.

Can you say 'gimmick'?

I've not yet played a DS game where those features weren't just novelties. Show me an example of a game that's genuinely added to by doing those things? Zelda?! Pah!

And yeah, a portable PS1 is great. It was a fantastic console. Go back 10 years and you're talking N64 which, by the way, has a decent emulator on the PSP.

Nintendo DS?

Puppy simulators, cookery advice and logic puzzles. And a stupid stylus to lose. Yeah, best thing since sliced bread, for real.
