the ugliest car in the world

Two ugly cars from the same stable - the Panther Rio (based on the Triumph Dolomite) and the Panther 6 (based on a not very good kids drawing by the look of it):

JC2's pic didn't show the front

I mean fuck me sideways, but grown adults in a Detriot design office signed that off, and other grown adults actually let it go into production.
Genuinely

Yep...I was in a Taxi in NYC and that abomination came past me and I had to do a double take. I thought it was an SUV in disguise being road tested prior to launch.

And GM wonder why they're royally screwed and people buy Honda, Toyota, Nissan.

People say they're ugly but I love them and they're built like tanks - go through anything too :)

That's not ugly - that's cute! good rally car in its day, as well.

Most new BMWs are hideous:

BMW used to make smart-looking, sharply-styled cars. Whoever they've got designing them these days wants shooting. The 3-series (above) is minging, and the bigger ones look like oversculpted bathtubs.

For sheer hideousness, however, some of British Leyland's 70s offerings are hard to beat:

I came in here to list the 1st gen. Fiat Multipla as well. Only beaten a half dozen times! :)

The Rodius and Aztek are pretty bad, but I reckon the Multipla beats 'em for sheer Ug factor.

I like the DS. I like the 1-series hatchback (they're selling it as a hideous coupe in the States) as well.

Good post that ^

I feel however that this effort from Fiat should get a mention too...

multipla.jpg

It looks like their starting brief was; "here's a golf cart; now put a roof on the fucker and we can sell it to dumbfucks in Treviso"

Our 12 year old says pretty much all new cars, especially small ones, look like fish.

I think he's got a point but I can't work out how or why.

Anyway, Multipla is a terrible looking car, the new bimmers have gradually grown on me (although they are still shit), the new C class is far worse (like a really bad IS200 rip off) and the advert is truly execrable.

However, the ugliest, and silliest, car ever is clearly the Plymouth Superbird

plymouth-superbird-1a.jpg

although it's probably quite a larf to drive, in a straight line.

This is the turbo version - 600hp!?!

060815002.jpg

If it is, that's a massively bodykitted version (doesn't even look like the Gayenne). The normal Turbo version isn't that disimilar to the normal version.

Power: 530bhp
Max Speed: 157mph
0-60: 5.8secs

I just think they're really fucking ugly cars, looks like the rear suspension has collapsed.

DS sounds like deesse or goddess in english. the parisian motorshow of 1955 went completely mad when it was first introduced then. it was the car of french presidents. I don't drive but this one is worth a bit of global warming, personally.

What kind of small dicked alpha-male attracting monstrosity is this thing?

hummer-h2.jpg

If you think that Hummer's ugly you should see the one that's often parked in Greenwich. 'Bling' doesn't even begin to describe it. Tbh I think you've summed up exactly what sort of person would want one: small-dicked alpha male!

Yeah Hummers are nasty

Cayennes on the other hand are rather nice, especially from the rear

Much better than an X5 anyway which just looks clumsy.

I just KNEW someone would post a Hummer, but they're definitely not ugly(although that yellow paintjob does it no favours) regardless of what sort of person drives them or how environmentally uncool they may be. They have a brutish beauty.

Another vote for the Fiat – my jaw drops to the pavement with disbelief every time I see one.

Looks like a BMW mini on 'roids

The BMW 'Mini' is an abomination IMO. Not 'cos it's spectacularly ugly or all that bad a car (so I'm told - I've not driven one), but because it's not a Mini!

Hang on, I think I might just have thought of a good candidate...

Probably the only thing that NATO did right over the Yugoslavian conflict was bombing the factory that made these monstrosities!

I think the Princess was OK, I rather wanted one...

I think some were quite well proportioned..

but not all

Tbh the Allegro has become too much of an icon these days to hate it all that much. It was butt-ugly thirty years ago and it still is, but it's strangely endearing all the same. I'll admit to a soft spot for the dumpy old Austin Maxi as well.

Tbh I had doubts about posting the Princess for the same reason. It's one of those things that's so bad it almost manages to be quite cool in its own way. Almost, but not quite.

It's true that the Morris Ital has no recognisable saving graces though.

I still can't believe peeps put the DS on this list. It may not be as great as some make out, but really it's not ugly.

But these are - proportions all wrong

A guy I work with has one that has had the full John Cooper Works treatment, it's got something like 230bhp, uprated brakes, suspension, interior, the lot.

It goes like stink, and is brilliant fun to chuck about :D

I bet it is, but it's still not a Mini! :p :D

Besides, it's front wheel drive. Real men like the power through the rear, waggling their arses about...
