The turd test. (*Irish accent off)

Hopefully England will be looking to get a lead of 450, declare, get off, and then have about 10 overs at the Windies tonight. Could be profitable.

Yes superb effort Sammy. Never get tired of watched Bravo though, with bat, ball or in the field, excellent cricketer.

My ideal today would be a thundering ton from Gayle, a cheeky one from Dwayne, and an 8-fer for Monty in a victory just shy of stumps.

:)

is he genuinely bowling well? i'm following various text commentaries and they sem pretty impressed.

the Ashington Express.
Yep. He is. Not a single wide so far and only one has gone badly down the leg-side.

To be fair even most Windies fans were expecting a defeat today.

Anyway, a great day's cricket really enjoyed it, set up splendidly for a tense finish tomorrow.

Shiv is the key, get him early and we could run through them but if he hangs around he might get enough support to see them home.

Come on Monty lad!

Would be pretty incredible for WI to pull off 455 to win in the fourth inning, that would be an all-time record wouldn't it?

I went to Old Trafford today, and Harmy was bowling superbly pretty much all day. I must admit, I was well impressed with Morton, considering many said he was just a slogger who couldn't pick his shots.

I've got to say though, Plunkett is pretty poor - very one dimensional. I thought Frank was OK today, without being too exceptional.

I only wish I was there tomorrow, rather than being at work.:(

Frank looked knackered to me, his pace was well down during his spell with the new ball late on. Hopefully Hoggy will be back for the final test, in place of Plunkett.

All down to Monty tomorrow

Yeah, you may be right about Frank as I was slightly drunk after the new ball and was enjoying the crowd's festivities more than the match.:o
You're right though about Hoggy, although we missed anybody who could have offered anything different today. How I pray for a Simon Jones return, too.

Don't we all? Bowling is the key thing which has let England down since his departure. Hopefully he'll be back bamboozling batsmen with reverse swing soon.

Monty finally dismisses Sammy with a sharp return catch, surprising everyone else (including the umpire).

Good c&b from Monty, magnificent pause from him before he celebrated thinking "have I caught this?"

"yes I haaaaaaave!!"

Monty is very, very good. :D I loved the moment of total silence and stillness after he caught it before everyone twigged that Sammy was out. :D Mind you, I still don't imagine that 'c&b Panesar' will be a very common entry on scorecards. :D

10-fer for Monty! Wisden Trophy stays with England. :D Great fightback from the Windies and great bowling from Monty and Harmy. Monty must be man of the match.

Another great innings from Shiv in vain, Lara and he top the batting averages in defeats.

Well done WI for making it into a super test match.
