the trials and tribulations of buying and selling property

I have just accepted an offer from the cash buyers :D They had better not mess us about
Watch this space for invites to the appartment warming, or prospective buyer's neck wringing  :)

I had to accept less than I wanted but more than they offered the last 2 times. I wish we were selling to someone nicer than them but we are really keen to buy the appartment we've seen and we'll lose it if we don't accept this offer now :(

I have stopped drinking too, haven't had one for a week and a half  Wolfie is having to drink for both of us but he doesn't seem to mind ;)

Fantastic news :)

I have someone coming to look at the flat tonight so fingers crossed

We are getting close to setting a moving date, could be as soon as 3 weeks from now. :D
I am no longer able to sleep at night and when I do manage a nap, I dream about house moving disasters :(

Glad you've found a place you two.

Even if some of us, from a purely selfish point of view of course, would love it you keep the beautiful tipi-toting rural retreat.

Good luck with it all. To civilisation and beyond...

We are looking for a suitable field nearby for tipi erection ;)

All those of you buying and worrying about how much to offer, consider how it is on the Scottish market, where houses are advertised at offers OVER the printed figure... when we were househunting a couple of years ago we had a maximum budget of £100,000. We saw a little 2-bed farm cottage we liked that was advertised at offers over £79K. We put in an offer of £100K for it, but later found out that it went for £130K! That was a case of the sellers putting a lower asking price than they were ever prepared to accept in the advert to stir up more interest I think.

there's no way I could afford more than 170k for a flat with the mortgage repayments without screwing myself financially (esp with Lambeth's CT charges!).

£170K for a flat??? Christ I'm glad I don't live in London, we paid £101K for a large 130 year old 2/3 bedroom house with a massive garden and parking for two cars!
