Its so annoying, I have been on the 409 running between Ashton and Rochdale, boarding midway, suddenly finding myself and the other passengers, gawoing, grumbling awh he thinks (the driver) ees on the 24 route (Manchester). To be taken down the motoway nearly before being able to turn the bus around and correct the route ee should be on
I blame Margaret Thatcher for de-regulating the transport service.

To add insult to injury as it was travelling on a 'special' (ie non-timetabled) route it had to go very slowly, so crawled through Denmark Hill (which probably would have suiteed a fair number of the passengers) at 2 miles per hour without stopping.

A similar thing happened to me a few years ago, also at Denmark Hill. Fortunatley they still had the old slam-door trains so we could just jump off.
