the thread for bitching about west ham

CyberRose said:
Seriously tho, don't you find it just a little bit odd that the Premier League simply took West Ham's word that the contract had been terminated without wanting to see any proof or confirmation from the other party to that contract?

odd? not really. i expect it would have been the same the other way round. you might have noticed that they're not exactly very keen on investigating their members' indiscretions. i genuinely think they will go our of their way to avoid having to penalise any club unless there's no other option. the whole thing was dodgy as fuck but no-one cared when it didn't do anyone else any damage. it's not justice or fairness in the sport people want, it's tv money.

Yea well we had a complete cunt of a chairman so makes sense really!

i know that feeling.

i loathed brown for years and the one thing i resent about this the most is that we were looking forward to a wonderful new dawn under eggy and yet brown has saddled us with all this shit.

Well we had demonstrations in the car park and a "red card" protest in the ground and finally he fucked off, only to be replaced by another cunt! (Tho he did build us a new stand)

is this the same lee bowyer signed by another manager to the almost universal disdain of west ham fans? well that's a good argument.

Well, signed twice actually.. by two different managers in fact (i think).. believe he may have been on ya books as a youth player too? Proud?

Oh and what have we now? (the 'gentleman' on the left)..

Whens woodgate available? Seriously tho, i find it interesting you started this thread - are u feeling a bit odd about the situation? I admit I would be.. wouldnt really be comfortable, but i admire ya desire to defend the whole thing... ;)

good. i wish that had worked with brown.

mind you some of us are still refusing to pay a penny to the club as long as bowyer is on the payroll. once he's gone and this saga is over it'll finally be back to normal.

i'm nto going to defend the indefensible. my club will take criticism where it deserves to, and if you could be bothered to read the last few years of west ham threads you'll see we're a hard bunch to please - we're very critical of our club. thing about bowyer is that you can forgive a club having a cunt on their books before they know he's a cunt, but there is no excuse for signing him once it becomes clear. i wouldn't want woodgate there either, and now i've heard about some of the stuff bellamy's got up to that i missed i'm not convinced i want him on our books either.

i started this thread so we could ahve all the fighting in one place that wasn;t the west ham thread for west ham fans to discuss it! it was getting on our tits. we want to talk about our new signings and whatnot, not have the same long argument that will NEVER be over.

and it won't, IMO. if we get punished it won't be enough for anyone. if we don't the haters will cry cheat. we can do all this here without getting int hew ay of talking about what role christian dailly is going to play next season!

I hope justice is done.

I think it will be. Ferguson's bid has highlighted what a sham the Tevez "transfer" is.

The Premier League is a worst place for it. We should do our utmost to kick out cheats like West Ham. :D :p :D

Hardly, as has already been pointed out, if WHU had no control over Tevez he would already be at Old Trafford. Why else would Tevez and jorabchian ask FIFA and the FA to suspend the contract? If WHU had no rights over the player there would be no need for this fuss. Give us back our £5.5M as we had control of the player!

Surely the claim when Tevez was allowed to keep on playing at West Ham was that Joorabchian had no influence any more. If he ends up at Man Utd that's obviously not the case is it.

That West Ham still retain enough influence to delay things a bit doesn't disprove that.

and of course it's obvious we cheated. completely obvious. jsut as these independent panels were clearly not independent.

dull dull dull!

still, sheffield united eh. if i recall correctly they were one of the clubs who broke away from the football league to form the premier league, unlike west ham, who weren't allowed to play. how the mighty ahve fallen eh now we're a rich successful club.

get it right mate...you are rich that's for sure... but how does just avoiding the drop make you successful:confused:

Pray tell?

Joorabchian admits Tevez is slightly saddened to be bringing to an end his spell as a West Ham player, but says it was agreed last summer that he would only spend one season at Upton Park.

"Carlos is a little bit sad because in terms of West Ham he felt very attached to the club last year," he added.

"He helped them, along with the other guys at the club, to get them out of the relegation battle which I think they did a fantastic job towards the end of the season.

"He's a sportsman, he doesn't really understand all the administrative bits and pieces, but he knows he's not in any way fighting with West Ham or demanding anything.

"He loved his time there and it was kind of mutually agreed he would be there for a year and he was there for his year, he served his year."

Isn't this sick-making??? 4 years becomes one year. But especially the bit that suggests that sportsmen are too thick to understand their contracts.

iROBOT, are you a spurs fan? i only ask because spurs fans are generally ones incapable of picking up sarcasm.

totally sick-making, but now it's an attempt to present west ham in a badlight, as the evil-doers forcing poor carlos into a contract that wasn't what he or KJ wanted or agreed to - complete bollocks of course, cos the original plan was the KJ would own WHU by now and so it wouldn't matter.

Considering recent developments, aren't you really, really glad he doesn't own WHU???

so, a genuine question rather than a fight, cyberrose, what do you reckon will be their next tactic?

Hmmmm. Statement from Sheff Utd's lawyer, cribbed from Guardian:

The club's lawyer, Paul Stothard, added that, "in playing a player who had not been properly registered [West Ham] could still be the subject of further claims".

Has it not been established Tevez was properly registered?

A significant minority of their fans (waaaaay bigger than most clubs) are a bunch of thick-as-pigshit, knuckle-dragging embittered racist hoolie cunts. ...

But not as many as Villa in my own experience.

Guess we'll have to agree to differ, what with different experiences and all. But I reckon any straw poll of fans' experience in the country would back me up, fwiw.

Your basis for this is....?

My own impressions, and that of other fans I've met of many stripes who go to games. No more than that. IME, you have a reputation for bitterness, racism and thuggishness. That's all.

I won't dispute the hooligan bit or the bitterness (I live in east London and know they can moan) but in my own experiences Villa has been the most vocal I've seen in the Midlands for racism and the loyalist element at England games (not the same but lets be honest it normally goes hand in hand).

I've no axe to grind with your team but seeing as most teams have a 95% white or more fanbase, racis, passive or otherwise, would probably be consistant amongst each club.

So just purely anecdotal then. Ta.
