I suggest possibly re-installing Firefox. Latest version. See if that fixes it.

It went all small so I pressed it with the + button and then it went all big.
But it was just the text again that went big. The rest of the page stayed really small.

now we just need to reset your screen resolution.
click on the start button (bottom left of your screen)
hover over settings
click on control panel
double click on displays
in the tabs at the top of the displays pop up box are 5 tabs, click on the right hand tab marked 'settings'
bottom left of that tab is a slider marked Screen Resolution, try moving that slider one click to the left, then click on Apply (bottom right of tab)
eta - if that makes it worse then move the slider 2 places to the right and click on apply, as I can't sus out if it's now too big or too small

have you found the zoom control yet? there's an ticky option on there for zoom text only

it's not just firefox now, it's IE and thunderbird, therefore it's not just the zoom in firefox

one of the options on that slider should sort it out. Can't tell you which one because I don't know what screen you've got.Did that. Made it a bit different but no better.
you may well also need to press ctrl and 0 to reset the view in firefox though... the 0 is the number zero btw, not the letter O
