This is true and without him, I'm not sure they're allowed to use the name 'The Specials', so I'd imagine it'll be 'Special AKA' again, or something...

When I saw this thread, I went straight to the last page, saw Jefe's, ie, Specials - Dammers = Not the Specials, and agreed. I then went back through the thread and saw they played Bestival. I had no idea that they had played, and when I saw that they had, my previous opinion, although it is the ideal, went out of the window. Thosen of you that were there, I hope you die. And I mean that in the nicest way possible : )

What was that Jerry Dammers was saying about Neville Staple being the only one who wouldn't reform the Specials without him? Looked like Neville was having a ball on stage at Bestival. So does anyone here have any more info regarding the Terry Hall management issue that Jerry Dammers was talking about?? Would love to know what that is all about.

No, they were one of the surprise guests. We'd only gone to the main stage to check where it was while waiting for DJ's we had come to see later and would have already left if my girlfriend hadn't wanted to wait and see who it was.

I was chatting to a mate when I heard the announcer say that the next band hadn't played together for 27 years. Then without saying who they were they launched into a song and immediately it dawned on me who they were and we were jumping up and down shouting "it's the fucking Specials""!!!
