The song that lifts you

Keziah Jones ~ Black Butterfly. astonishing, beautiful singing, sounding a lot like David McAlmont on the first mcalmont and butler album.

Sadly enough it's that levellers one, beautiful day.

When they hit the 'light a bonfire for all time' lyric I am feeling jaunty

Venetian Snares - 'Winnipeg is fucking over' always gets a smile out of me...

Or that funky house 'Believe' with Jocelyn Brown...

Nights on Broadway - Candi Staton
Anything by the Supremes
I want you back - Jackson 5
Most Take That stuff

There's loads of stuff that makes me smile actually. I guess it's anything I can sing along very badly to. :)

gee theres loads.

heres a few.

tempole tudor - swords of a thousand men (or wunderbar)
Dreadzone - little britain
sly and the family stone - dance to the music
the specials - little bitch
the clash - whiteman in hammersmith palais
Jackie wilson - higher and higher
bjork - big time sensuality

I'm tempted to say Fucked With a Knife by Cannibal Corpse. But I won't cos it'd be silly

Elevate, Little Britain and Fight the Power by Dreadzone
This Garden by the Levellers (so shoot me)
Wonderful World, Beautiful People by Jimmy Cliff

Two from The Who.

I Can See For Miles

Won't Get Fooled Again

The thing that lifts me with both of these songs, and a load more Who songs, is Keith Moon's drumming. Brilliant.
